    Remember - 2 Peter (Part 3)

In the final message of our Remember series through 2 Peter, Pastor Jeremy reminded us that God’s timing is not delay as we often understand it. While we may be tempted to interpret waiting as absence, indifference, or silence, Peter teaches that God is patient, “not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Because Christ’s return is certain, we are called to make every effort as we wait with holy conduct, godliness, urgency, and hope, growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus until the day He comes.

    Remember - 2 Peter (Part 2)

What if some of the beliefs we hold most confidently about God aren’t actually rooted in God’s word? This message takes us on a surprising journey that ends with one of the most searching questions we can ask ourselves: where did what we believe actually come from? Drawing from Peter's second letter, written in the final days of his life, we explore the remarkable chain of faithfulness that carried the gospel from eyewitnesses all the way to us today. Peter was there. He stood on the mountain when Jesus was transfigured in blinding light. He heard the voice of God declare over Jesus, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!”. And now, knowing his death is imminent, he writes with urgency to protect a church that is established in the truth. The central challenge he raises is one we all face: the truth of God travels through people, and people are broken. False teaching does not always announce itself. More often, it arrives quietly through songs, captions, borrowed phrases, and half-remembered lessons that sounded close enough to scripture that we never stopped to check. The message calls us to trace every belief back to its origin, to hold what we hear up against what God actually said. We are called to recognize that we ourselves have been teachers as well, whether we intended to or not, through how we live, how we react, and what we love. We must ask, “What is my life teaching?"

    Remember - 2 Peter (Part 1)

What if the greatest danger to our faith is not doubt or rebellion, but simply forgetting what we already have? That is the striking question at the heart of this message drawn from the opening of 2 Peter. Peter, writing at the end of his life, is not introducing anything new to the people he is addressing. He is reminding them. And that distinction matters enormously. The central spiritual lesson here is that God has already given us everything required for life and godliness through his divine power. Not some of what we need. Not a starter kit that we are expected to build on through our own effort. Everything. The problem Peter identifies in the people he is writing to is not a shortage of grace or a deficiency of spiritual resources. It is that they have forgotten the cleansing they received and have quietly drifted into a kind of spiritual autopilot. They still show up. They still affirm the right things. But nothing is growing. This message challenges us to ask an honest question about our own lives: are we managing a comfortable distance from God while calling it faithfulness? The chain of qualities Peter lays out, from goodness through knowledge, self-control, endurance, godliness, brotherly affection, and love, is not a ladder we climb by our own effort. It is a picture of what grows naturally in a person who stays close to the one who called them. And it always ends with love, the only quality on the list that someone else has to verify. If our inner growth has not shown up in how we treat the real people in our real lives, there is work yet to be done.

    Exiles - 1 Peter (Part 14)

What does it really mean to win in the Christian life? Sometimes victory does not look like a triumphant celebration. Sometimes it simply looks like still being on your feet. This message draws from the closing words of 1 Peter 5 to remind us that standing firm in God's grace is itself a profound act of faith. Peter wrote to people who had been forcibly exiled from their homes, scattered into foreign cultures, and pressured to abandon their convictions. His charge to them, and to us, is not to pretend life is easy, but to place everything, our families, our finances, our uncertain futures, into the hands of a God who genuinely cares for us. The apostle Paul echoes this in 2 Corinthians 4, describing a life that is pressed but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, knocked down but not destroyed. There is something deeply freeing in recognizing that still standing, still trusting, still following Jesus through the hard seasons is not a consolation prize. It is the real thing. If we have not quit, that itself may be the greatest evidence of God's grace at work in our lives.

    Exiles - 1 Peter (Part 12)

What if the secret to an unshakeable faith is not avoiding difficulty, but expecting it? Drawing from 1 Peter 4, we explore one of the most practically powerful ideas in the Christian life: the role of proper expectations. A faith built with the right expectations can carry us through trials without collapsing. The message is clear and direct from Peter himself: do not be surprised by fiery trials, as though something strange were happening. These moments are not evidence that God has abandoned us or that our faith has failed. They are, in fact, evidence that the refining work of God is underway. Fire, in Peter's hands, is not a symbol of judgment but of transformation, the same process a goldsmith uses to draw something precious and lasting out of raw ore. We are invited to reframe every difficult season not as a crisis of faith, but as a partnership with Christ, a merging of our story into His. And perhaps most unexpectedly, we are reminded that prosperity carries its own spiritual danger, quietly tempting us to conclude we no longer need God. The call is the same in both extremes: trust God and keep doing what is right.

    Exiles - 1 Peter (Part 11)

What if knowing the end of the story completely changed how we lived today? That is exactly the challenge laid out in 1 Peter 4:7-11, where we are reminded that the end of all things is near, and that this reality should reshape our priorities in deeply practical ways. Rather than responding with panic or withdrawal, we are called to pray with earnestness and discipline, recognizing that prayer is not a panic reaction to circumstances but an expression of confidence in the One who holds all things together. When we pray, we are reminded who is truly in charge, and that reminder has the power to cut through every fear our culture tries to press upon us. The passage reminds again of the ultimate commandments, calling us to love one another deeply, a love described in the Greek as the straining stretch of an athlete reaching for the finish line. This is not passive affection but intentional commitment to one another, a love that covers a multitude of sins by refusing to turn every offense into a conflict. As we near the end of the story, the most important thing we can do is deepen our love for one another.
