No lobsters in these here woods...

A special surprise mini-podcast from deep in the woods of Western Massachussets! I'm all by my irrationally-afraid-of-serial-killers-getting-me-in-the-night lonesome in Amherst, en route to a somewhat more permanent dwelling in Maine. Won't it be neat when I'm not moving all the time? I sure think so. Since Peter and I continue to be tens, if not dozens, of miles away from one another's computers (and each other), I decided to surprise my cohost and wonderful listeners with a brief glimpse into my hilariously (read: tragically) mobile life. Keep checking back for proper shows, but enjoy my ranting until then! Oh, and by the way? We have awesome business cards now. I made them for that convention I couldn't end up getting to. If you ever see me or Peter (you'll know us when you do, or something) ask for a card. They're super-duper! Update (from Peter): Looks like SarahKat uploaded the wrong file.  (She's a little new to the production side of things.)  Stand by for the real thing.  I'm curious to hear it myself... :) More Update (from SarahKat): Fixed it! I only needed a little help!

Jesus on the Radio, Jun. 6, 2006: Tens of Miles Apart

My kingdom for GarageBand! I can't stand working in Audacity any longer. It's too slow, too clunky, too destructive. Ugh. Some errata: SarahKat, sadly, will not be at Connecticon this weekend. But then, if you're there trying to find her, you probably knew that already. Also, I'm no longer so thrilled with AppleCare. More in the next episode. Peter Show notes: Our new setup. Mmm, turkey jerkey. "I like to sit and listen to the sound of my own voice." -SarahKat SarahKat's accents. A Look in the Mailbag: Lovely spam, wonderful spam. A tale of two emails. SK's computer goes to sleep. "MySpace is the bane of the universe" -SarahKat The Ice Cream Cometh The Dionysia Film Festival at Connecticon. SarahKat is not living out of her car in Maine. We're not secret agents. Feedback: Travis from The Ponderplace checks in on keeping notebooks. The saga of AppleCare.

Ooh! Ooh! Read this! It's awesome!

Whoa! It's someone OTHER than Peter writing on the good ol' JOTR site! And...it's me! Because no one else would write on the good ol' JOTR website...but...me. That was supposed to be really exciting, but I guess the fireworks and fanfare in my head just didn't translate into those exclamation points with sufficient bravado. Anyhows, Peter let me in on the (stupidly simple) secret of how to update to the main page so you can hear MY side of the story, not just his. Though I guess I don't really want to shoulder the burden of doing show notes as detailed and hilarious as his, and I don't actually have anything of worth to say...Meh, let's just look at this as yet another place all my fans can hear me bitch 'n moan, and weren't you all jonesin' for that? I know I was! I'm somewhere in between near-homicide (living with family after graduating from college = very no), dank depression (I hate going weddings where you're the ONLY single person over the age of 15), blinding euphoria (Maine soon! *finally!*), and hunger. Mmm, I think we have roast beef...so I should let you return to your regularly scheduled internet browsing. Enjoy the new show, there's more to come! (For real this time, I promise.) (Man, I sure do use a lot of brackets and ellipses...) ~SarahKat

Jesus on the Radio, Jun 12, 2006: Flashback

This week (who are we kidding) on Jesus on the Radio: a flashback. SK's still not around, so Peter digs deep into the archives and pulls up a gem from the old WXBC days. It originaly aired Oct. 23, 2005. We really will have an all new show up soon, I promise.

Jesus on the Radio, Apr. 26, 2006: The Health Beer Edition

This week's episode is inspired by PW Fenton. If you heard the Beer Shoot Edition of Digital Flotsam, you'll know what health beer is. I did, and my curiosity got the better of me. In this episode, we sample some health beer, then pass it around to get the reactions of some of our unsuspecting guests. The drinking is all in celebration of SarahKat's (and everyone else's) senior project being done and in! Listen in and hear exactly how many cups of coffee she's drunk this month. It's not pretty... Oh, and Shagg are coming by tomorrow to play at Spring Fling here at Bard. If you're in the area, stop on by! Show starts at 2. Let us know if you're coming. Peter Show notes: SarahKat's project is done and in! Podsafe: Jim's Big Ego - Stress [PMN] How much coffee can SarahKat take? What we're drinking. What the heck is "health beer"? PW Fenton answers that question for us. Our reactions. The reactions of our lab monkeys. Podsafe: Brain Buckit - Sweet Tequila [PMN]

Jesus on the Radio, Apr. 16, 2006: IKEA

Nothing to do with Jesus, but plenty to do with IKEA. What more can I say? Oh, and I went to see Brother Love. But mostly, it's about IKEA. Peter Show notes: Peter got to see Brolo. Everyone was at the show. How do you talk to a blind guy in a club? Podsafe: Brother Love - Summertime [PMN] A Midsummer Night's Heatstroke. Peter is hanging around with the wrong people. The Internet never lies. "The Brolo phenomenon.? SarahKat fails to quote Futurama. Lee Ann Westover (of the Biddies) is a cool person. Also at the show. Promo: Team Biddy and the MS Walk, April 23 in NYC. The a*****e in the woods. Acid paint. Podsafe: Kevin Reeves - Afraid and Alone [PMN] "Yeah, so, that song's awesome…? — SarahKat. Winterpills…coming soon to Jesus on the Radio? "Big Trouble?: NOT ABOUT CLUBBING BABY SEALS! (But funny you should mention it…) Check out Chub Creek. Unless you're an a*****e. Clip: Ed and Ethel go to IKEA - Chub Creek 51 Podsafe: Jonathan Coulton - Ikea All about IKEA. "People always mix up Switzerland and Sweden, but never Swaziland.? — Peter Podsafe: The Lascivious Biddies - Betty [PMN] Thanks to the PMN for most of our music. And, please, drop us a line at (206) 666-JOTR (that's 5687). Or email us at jesusradio@gmail.com. Podsafe: Josh Woodward - Adventures of the Deaf Dreamer [PMN]

Jesus on the Radio, Apr. 5, 2006: Borderline Straightedge

The new mics are here! And boy does it sound nicer. Of course, now you can hear every little noise in the room, including my phone, which rings twice during the show. No matter, SarahKat, champ that she is, steps up to the plate for a quick solo performance. We talk about Brolo's show at Arlene's Grocery in this episode, which we recorded before it happened. I went, I had a blast, and I'll talk more about it on the next show. If you missed it, or if you're just itching to do it all over again, check him out at Crash Mansion on April 26th. More info on his site. Peter Show notes: Our new Behringer XM8500s (mics). Burberry. Oh...yeah. Podsafe: Andrew K. Stone of So There Books (and someone else, uncredited) - Understand A look back at spring break. Post-breakup PSA #2. Peter is a bastard. Check out Chub Creek. They're cool. Peter recounts his landing difficulties at Bradley International. SarahKat totally beats Peter's story. David Ippolito is not the Naked Cowboy, nor Dashboard Confessional. Podsafe: David Ippolito - Jesus Land or Bush World [PMN] Live Music: Brother Love's April 6th show has actually passed now, but check him out at Crash Mansion on April 26th (check out Brolo's site for more details) SarahKat talks about Guster. Podsafe: The Genders - Mammary Glands [PMN] Podsafe: Deirdre Flint - Boob Fairy [PMN] Technology is amazing. The Gmail in Crisis! Got Gmail? Got Tiger? Get GPeek. Call our Listener Comment Line! It's (206) 666-JOTR (or 5687). Peter needs a good Gmail name! Do you get Japanese spam? Dumb spam? We sure do! Shoutouts to Michael from Shagg, to Siobhan
