How Do You View the World? (Wildcard Wednesday)

Our current society has a big worldview problem.
Today for Wildcard Wednesday, We Talk About WorldviewToday, we talk about John Mark Comer’s book Live No Lies, and two ideas that he really helped me clarify:
What was the biggest idealogical mindset shift in Western civilization in the past 200 years? What cultural credo did we pick up from Shakespeare, and why is it so ironic?Today’s Mind Change Monday episode gets into the philosophical underpinnings of modern Western thought, and two lies of the devil that have shaped so many people’s thoughts on happiness:

The Perilous Fight, with Dr. Ben Carson

The Perilous Fight, with Dr. Ben Carson

The American Family is Under Attack, and it is a Perilous Fight for the Soul of Our Nation and the Souls of our Children
Join me for a chilling but hopeful conversation with world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon, bestselling author, and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson!
Dr. Carson's new book is The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture's War on the American Family
Dr. Carson's American Cornerstone Institute is doing great work. You can join more than 341,000 subscribers and receive updates and educational content from Dr. Ben Carson and the American Cornerstone Institute by signing up for his free newsletter by clicking here.
More information about Dr. Carson's important new book below.
From Amazon.com:Learn from one of our leading conservative voices how we can return to the biblical values our nation was founded upon, especially the vital importance of the family, in order to secure a prosperous future for generations to come.Does America no longer feel like home? Widespread divorce rates, the erosion of traditional marriage, the popular rise of radical ideologies, attacks on faith, and government interference are only a few of the factors contributing to the struggles of families in our culture. And because of the importance of healthy families to every part of our national life, the breakdown of the family threatens to rob us of the country we love. But it doesn't have to be this way.Like many of us, Dr. Ben Carson fears we are losing the country we love. In this provocative and ultimately hopeful book, he gives us the facts, inspiration, and theory-to-action answers we need to restore a key foundation of America: the family.
The Perilous Fight equips us to understand:

The hard data behind the breakdown of the family and its effects on our society, including poverty, crime, and deteriorating education. The core biblical beliefs that led our nation into unprecedented freedom and prosperity--and why abandoning those beliefs led to the social decline we see today. The fresh ideas and public policy options that could reverse negative trends impacting the family while maintaining a balance between constitutional freedoms and governmental involvement. This is a practical and inspiring book for anyone who:
Feels discouraged about the state of our country and its institutions.Needs hope that there are commonsense, attainable solutions that we all can practice.Appreciates a conservative, Scripture-based approach to restoring faith, liberty, community, and life in America.Strong families are the cornerstone of strong communities. Strong communities build a strong nation. Only when we prioritize the family as an institution established by God will we proudly remain the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Thoughts Become Things (The 10th Commandment of Self-Brain Surgery)

Thoughts Become Things (The 10th Commandment of Self-Brain Surgery)

The Things We Think About Turn Into Real Things Today, a look at the 10th commandment of Self-Brain Surgery: I must understand that thoughts become things.
Scripture: Philippians 4:6-9, II Corinthians 10:5
The Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery
I must relentlessly refuse to participate in my own demise.
I must believe that feelings are not facts, they are chemical events in my brain.
I must believe that most of my thoughts are untrue.
I must believe that my brain is designed to heal (Ryker’s Regular Legs)
I must love tomorrow more than I hate how I feel right now. (No Tomorrow Tax! Corollary: I must not treat bad feelings with bad operations.)
I must stop making an operation out of everything.
I must not perpetuate generational thought or behavioral issues in my family or start any new ones.
I must love my brain and live in such a way as to protect and improve it.
I must believe that what I’m doing I’m getting better at.
I must understand that thoughts become things.

Recovery Joe ,

Simply Good

I take a note on every episode but the one with Pete Greig was way cool. I hit the back button until I thought I’d wear it out.

Finished Lee’s 1st book in 2 sittings. As a civilian contractor I met several Drs at Landstuhl Regional Hospital who saw the work of those who served in his position.

The 2nd book I had to take in shorter doses. Super good but deeper for my brain. Time to get on #3.

Thank you for the podcast. Just good stuff!

So helpful

I don’t know how to adequately thank Dr. Warren for these podcasts. Though I’ve only been listening a year or so, these daily messages have made a huge difference for me. I find time each day to sit the episode in a quiet, peaceful place and always learn something new and glean insight and clarity. The scriptures are just what I need to hear on the day’s journey. Trauma of any kind is not only difficult to heal and recover from, but it is so misunderstood. What a blessing these podcasts are! Thank you, Dr. Warren.

gutsygyn ,

Yes, Romans 12:2!!

Thank you for showing us that science continues to reinforce the truth as laid out in the Bible 🥳🥳🥳 And for reminding us that our body is not our own, it was given to us to house The Holy Spirit while we fulfill God’s purpose for our life!!! 🙏🏻
