    The Cost of Sin

In this passage, Hosea’s children become living warnings of the devastating cost of Israel’s sin—judgment, discipline, and rejection. Yet even in judgment, God’s mercy and grace are displayed, reminding us that while sin has consequences, God’s grace is greater than our sin. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.

    A Scandalous Love

Hosea 1:1–3 gives us a sobering picture of the seriousness of sin and the faithfulness of God. Through Hosea’s difficult obedience, God reveals the heartbreak caused by his people’s unfaithfulness while calling them to repentance. Even in judgment, we see a God whose love is far greater than we can imagine. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.

    Is the Bible Trustworthy?

How can we know the Bible is trustworthy? Luke 1:1–4 shows us that Scripture is written by credible authors and grounded in eyewitness testimony, historical events, and careful presentation. These foundations give us confidence that the Bible is true and that our faith rests on solid ground. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.

    The Foundation That Stands

Jesus closes the Sermon on the Mount with a sobering call not merely to hear his words, but to obey them. Through the picture of two foundations, he reminds us that genuine faith produces obedience, and that only a life built on the solid rock of Christ will stand. From our Sunday service at Grace bible Church of Bend.

    Fulfillment and Faithfulness

Jesus said he did not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets, but to fulfill them. In Matthew 5:17-20, we see Christ’s purpose, the enduring authority of God’s Word, and the call to a righteousness that only Christ can provide. Because Jesus fulfilled the Law, we can trust, obey, and rejoice in him. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.

The Believer's Influence & Purpose in the World

In Matthew 5:13-16, Jesus calls His followers to be salt and light in a world marked by sin and darkness. Through godly character, good works, and sharing the gospel, believers are called to influence those around them and reflect God’s glory to a watching world. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.

    Blessed Are the Persecuted

In Matthew 5:10-12, Jesus teaches that persecution is an expected part of faithfully following him. Rather than avoiding suffering, Christians can rejoice because God uses persecution to strengthen and prove our faith, while reminding us of our eternal reward and our place among generations of faithful believers. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.

    Blessed Are the Peacemakers

Matthew 5:9 considers how the gospel shapes believers to carry a "family resemblance" to our Heavenly Father, specifically in light of how he has made peace with sinners. In this sermon, we see how God has made peace with his enemies through the blood of his Son, Jesus, and we are called to pursue peace so that we might reflect our Father to one another and to those who are still living in opposition to God. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
