    How to Find Time in Your Busy Schedule for Some YOU Time

    When you first received your real estate license you had one goal: stay busy, busy, busy so you can expand your business. The problem is, you may be so busy now that you don't have any time for yourself - you may have such a busy schedule that you feel a vacation is out of the question. I'm here to tell you that it isn't - that it's indeed possible, and probably good for your business in the long run, to take time away from work and clear your head. You may think it will be tough, that you have too many clients that rely on you. You need to understand that other people can do just as good a job as you, it's simply a matter of finding a competent and dedicated person you can trust.  But how could they possible replace the knowledge and skills you bring to the table? It's as simple as making the necessary preparations before you leave, so your fill-in can handle the day-to-day operations of your team. Here's how you can prepare your team for your absence and ensure your clients are in good hands while you are away: Make sure you have the pertinent details wrapped up for all the parties involved. You need to have detailed instructions for all the parties involved in a transaction, from the closing attorney to the termite people. They need to know exactly what is going on in the transaction.  Don't leave your clients with a surprise. Make sure everyone you are currently working with is aware that you will be out of town, and that there are a lot of people "in the know" that can provide help while you're away. Have a lengthy conversation with the mortgage lender if you are representing a buyer. Make sure everyone knows exactly how much money needs to be brought to the table for any closings that may happen while you're away. Make sure all the numbers are known and agreed upon if you are representing a seller. You need to make sure you know the exact amount the seller needs to bring to the table or the check that they will receive at closing. Settle communication between parties before you leave town. Make sure all the right people are in touch and that lines of communication are open and functional. Give your backup person all pertinent files with the details of each transaction. The worst thing you can do is leave town thinking you'll get everything worked out at closing. By preparing your staff adequately, you can ensure it's business as usual while you're enjoying your vacation. You want to do everything in your power to put things in order before you leave so you are able to relax while you're away. Now you can start making preparations so you can enjoy some time for yourself before summer ends. One of the most common questions I am asked is, “What does it take to be a successful real estate agent?” In our field of work, success is determined by profits. So what is the key to becoming a successful agent who brings in a 6-figure income? I am here to tell you. The more effort you put into learning strategies and techniques for selling will directly correlate to your income. Here are some helpful tips to get you started. The #1 key to become a 6-figure agent is the ability to make connections with people. People like fellow agents, prospective clients, or clients you already have. As real estate agents we have a duty to put our customer’s interest above all else.  Another important factor is converting leads. It is important to have a steady stream of leads, but those leads aren’t worth anything if you can’t convert them to sales. Referrals are also an important aspect of becoming a 6 figure agent. If you have the ability to make a connection with your clients and treat them well, they will trust you to do the same for their family and friends.  In a crowded field like real estate, being memorable is essential. If you are in a big market, sometimes you are competing with thousands of other agents. You have to do things a little differently to stand out amongst that crowd. Being unique will help you get to the top of your market. Taking care of yourself is almost as important as taking care of your clients. Remember that you are in this business for the benefit of yourself and you need to treat yourself well and work hard towards your goals. You are your own CEO and if you are lethargic about yourself, that will translate over to the client side. Finally, remember to have a positive attitude. This is probably the most important key to becoming a 6 figure agent. Not everybody has all the answers right away and everybody makes mistakes, but with a good attitude you can be teachable and coachable. Real Estate, like everything else in life, is a learning experience and the right attitude can go a long way in helping you reach your goals.

    Real Estate Coaching Won't Work For You If...

I've had the opportunity to coach hundreds of real estate agents, and because of this, I know what it takes to be a successful coaching client. I've laid out 6 qualities I've noticed in coaching clients that hold them back from success. Before you invest in coaching, ask yourself if these qualities describe you.  Not self-motivated- When you come to one of our sessions, you will probably be fired up, but how will you sustain that energy? You need to channel your motivation into action. If you need constant motivation from outside yourself, coaching will not work for you. Pessimistic- If you've been disappointed by every product you've ever purchased or every mentor you've ever had, coaching will not work for you. Seeking a Magic Bullet: Real estate coaching is not a quick fix. It is about getting down and dirty and figuring out why your business isn't working, and it's also about taking action and fixing it. If you're afraid of hard work, coaching is certainly not for you. Know-It-All: Coaching brings a fresh set of eyes into your business, and if you can't handle constructive criticism, then you will not make a good client. You need to be open to learning new things and utilizing your talents in different ways. Poor Listener: If you cannot listen, then you cannot change. If all you're interested in doing is talking about the problems in your business rather than taking action to solve them, coaching is not for you. Despise Accountability: Accountability is what makes results happen in your business. The best of the best seek out accountability, they actually crave it and look for it in every area of their business. If you cannot do handle being held accountable to take concrete action, then coaching is simply not for you. If you're confident about your business but know that something is wrong and you're willing to work hard to fix it, you might be a great candidate for real estate coaching. If you are not willing to put in the necessary effort to fix your business, I don't want you to waste your time or money implementing systems that you won't follow.
