610 - Are gigantic pedalboards back in fashion and what is the cure for a bad band practice?

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 610 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Are gigantic pedalboards back in fashion and what is the cure for a bad band practice? Brian opens up with possibly the most Martinsville story ever and it confuses everyone before Richard attempts to steer the conversation back to music and reveals a sick burn that got him. He then overshares something he really shouldn't and has also nearly bought a Charvel. Have you ever worked at a music store? The guys reminisce about their first jobs and Richard has good news about the state of modern music. Blake had a literal rude awakening when Richard sent a candid photo of a very famous drummer without considering the time zone differences. An icon of the music industry thinks Brian is too sexy for his guitar. Do you listen to AI-generated music? A fraudster has made millions by illegally manipulating streaming services using AI and the guys debate this. Brian has technical issues. Richard makes a case for why the guitar can never be replaced by technology and is infuriated by fake rock star daughter profiles. Backing track confessions, SNL x Wet Leg, K-Cups, Brian's Mandela effects, UFO Disclosure, Amplified Nation... it's all in this week's Chasing Tone! We are on Patreon now too! 609 - You can't put handlebars on an amplifier, the world's most expensive guitar, and happy birthday to the Telecaster!

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 609 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - You can't put handlebars on an amplifier, the world's most expensive guitar, and happy birthday to the Telecaster! Blake has returned from his truck driving days and Richard is in an argumentative mood, while Brian is wistful for the days of CB radios and dreams of flying in his own personal drone. Guitar Pedals? Us? Nah... Brian has a new two-wheeled vehicle and is excited to customize it as we wrap up the transport section of the show. Brian is gassing for a new amp, so the guys look at his available choices and he points out that Richard has finally realized his Gilmour-based dreams with the launch of Oliver Effects! He tells us a little bit about his first pedal, the Purple Ohm Fuzz, and the guys talk about the origin story. Richard gives Brian a valuable idea. The Telecaster turns 75 and the big F has released some new Telecasters, including a new Cabronita model that the guys are lusting after. In other news, Fender won a court case in Germany allowing them to effectively trademark the shape of the Stratocaster, and the guys debate this. Also, a very special Strat is now the world's most expensive guitar... Truck nuts, Friedman amps, Daisy Seed, Digital Doohickery, Brian's Powertron... it's all in this week's Chasing Tone! 608 - Vintage amps, Wooden samplers, and Fender's bender agenda

Brian and Richard are back for Episode 608 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Vintage amps, wooden samplers, and Fender's bender agenda. There is a lack of Blake in today's episode as he has gone trucking, and Richard has the GAS bad once again for a pointy-headed guitar. Meanwhile, Brian is dreaming of creating a Wampler Sports brand. Richard wonders if he has entered a new midlife crisis but is soon distracted by a Fender bender. Is the concept of an auto-tuning guitar completely dead in the water? The guys try to have a sensible conversation but it goes off into the techno weeds, and Brian has big Daisy Seed news. Meanwhile, Richard is amused by some pickup finishes and Brian has some strange Bare Knuckle requests. Brian has been pondering his next vintage amp purchase, and Richard shows him a very exclusive vintage amp he was sent pictures of - there is some drooling, although Richard still prefers a "modern" sounding amp, and the guys discuss. Meanwhile, there is an invention that may or may not be awesome, and there is some concern about the price of memory chips. Brown Sugar, GT Pro Performer, hamburgers, worriers by nature, Tembo — it's all in this week's Chasing Tone! We are on Patreon now too! 607 - Brian invents a new form of reverb and are guitar magazines dead?

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 607 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Brian invents a new form of reverb and are guitar magazines dead? Brian is in a chipper mood, whereas for Blake it's been a busy week - someone gets fired live on air, and there is a long neck involved. Meanwhile, Richard has been playing fancy guitars and has some views that he struggles to articulate. He has also fallen in love with a piece of wood, and Brian has Camperlust. When was the last time you bought a guitar magazine? The guys discuss the state of guitar magazines, advertising, and why we should support journalists! There's also some chat about different methods to learn guitar parts, and THAT solo gets mentioned again. Richard introduces Dave the Wizard. Can you cope with more than the main "food groups" of the electric guitar? Brian can't - he thinks everything just needs a B-Bender in it. Meanwhile, there hasn't been enough UFO talk recently, so the guys attempt to fix that...and then it goes massively off into the weeds again. Sorry, not sorry. Seth Baccus Guitars, Potholes, Double Dragon, OFX, Tone King Royalist, UFOS... it's all in this week's Chasing Tone! We are on Patreon now too! 606 - The Art of the Stompbox, Blake has ghosts, and Brian falls down another rabbit hole

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 606 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - The Art of the Stompbox, Blake has ghosts, and Brian falls down another rabbit hole. The guys open with cartoon-based nonsense, plenty of questions, and an update from the British King of Fuzz. Meanwhile, a book celebrating the art behind some of the world's most iconic pedals has just been released - and it features a section on Wampler, which left Richard simultaneously proud and bemused. Brian has been deep down the Mandela Effect rabbit hole. Have you ever had a rehearsal where you thought everything went badly? Some rookie errors led to a situation and raised some new questions. Wampler released the Golden Jubilee last week and the guys discuss why it is absolutely not a Tube Screamer - despite being green. Brian also goes a bit too far with the medical stories. Again. Rush has announced a new European tour and the guys debate it, somehow dragging Lars Ulrich into the conversation along the way. Wampler has won an award for the greatest Klon clone of 2026 and the guys are too legit to quit. Meanwhile, Brian gets very angry at Richard, who is thinking about going to see some country music. Captain Caveman, The Matrix, Nefarian 11, Tone King, Scratch-'n'-Sniff pedals... it's all in this week's Chasing Tone! We are on Patreon now too! 605 - We are the weird ones and is this the ultimate collection of gear ever?

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 605 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - We are the weird ones and is this the ultimate collection of gear ever?   Blake tells us about his CB radio close calls and Brian ponders whether he should be training monkeys and cats. Richard has been playing with AI music generation and is both impressed and depressed at the same time. Somehow a Trans-Am and various wild predictions are involved.  Brian admits he is not the typical guitar player and we get some insight into his creation process as he has re-discovered an old favorite pedal. Meanwhile Richard and Brian discuss the all new Wampler release and there are unrepeatable stories. Blake has been playing with a classic Wampler pedal and it has made him feel warm and fuzzy but Richard ruins it all with his bad reading.   Richard has been digging through the items coming up for auction in the Jim Irsay collection and he is bowled over by the quality and Britishness of the collection. He also explains the concept of pancake day. Meanwhile Paul Reed Smith made some comments about the Telecaster and it has drawn some views and created an interesting question. Hot Cake, Leviathan secrets, Silver Jamboree, Chris Shiflett Tele, Small Venues...it’s all in this week’s Chasing Tone! We are on Patreon now too! 604 - Brian drops some more big hints, confuses everyone, and is a kind of chilled out entertainer

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 604 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - Brian drops some more big hints, confuses everyone, and is a kind of chilled out entertainer The episode opens up with complete unabashed gibberish from Brian and Blake and Richard is totally confused and somehow Adam Sandler is involved. Brian has been watching TV and it confuses everyone. Meanwhile the British king of fuzz received a package and it contained a Pedalhead which he dutifully tested with multiple pedals and tells us all about it. After dropping the Pedalhead with its new custodian, a certain Mr. Pete Thorn, Richard got to watch him shred in the Classic Rock Show - and "that song" may or may not be involved. It also provokes some debate before Blake accuses Richard of nefarious business practices and Brian tries to bring more music to Martinsville. Brian has been thinking about a new way to make Backing tracks - yes the automatons are involved - and it spins into an interesting debate about how music career trajectories for the masses may have changed but maybe they are equally as healthy as ever? The guys also chat about stem separation software and there is string talk!  The Tube Butler, Meatloaf, Slippery Nipples, Snack Daddy, Baby Blue Marshalls...it’s all in this week’s Chasing Tone! Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 603 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - A royal declaration, a new guitar is needed, and Brian is a workaholic   It's apparently been an uneventful week as we open up and Richard makes an important royal announcement which makes him incredibly happy. Meanwhile Brian shakes his fist at the clouds. There is also an urgent need to buy a new guitar and Blake's friends have car / tree interface issues while Brian turns to Workaholicism.  Brian was contacted by a listener who actually wanted us to veer off topic more and talk about UFOs and Aliens and somehow the Bank of England is involved. There is some current affairs talk that  relates to strings and Brian likes a thick bottom and considers dressing like Justin Bieber. Richard has got his hands on a Pedalhead and he is very excited but he only has it for a small amount of time and he is already impressed. He also has had a chance to spend some time with his new Blackstar ID:X Floor 3 and gives us some feedback before destroying his internet connection.  J-ROD arrives, UAPs, Spinal Tap, Tape Spaghetti, Basingstoke...it’s all in this week’s Chasing Tone!
