I've been roleplaying and tabletop gaming for 14+ years. It's something that's inherent to me as a person. But for the longest time I was under the impression that D&D was the one good system from the very meager pickings of the tabletop gaming scene. Obviously that's not the case. Tabletop gaming thrives better than ever. And while D&D is certainly the largest and arguably most successful system, it is in no way what I consider the best. I've now played several more in my time. Many of them topping D&D as my current favorite. But the best is still out there to find.
That's what Parallel Lives is here to help with. Each episode, they take a new or obscure game and look at it with honest eyes and eager minds. And it's difficult not to like their style. While criticism has its place, it's second to them discussing the good memories and the unique mechanics that the game offered. They are good friends enjoying a good time with a new game. Thanks to them, I've expanded my horizons even further. Games like Kingdom, Microscope, and Ryuutama have provided nights of entertainment for my local gaming group. Nights impossible without finding out about them through this podcast.
If your interest is new and interesting tabletop games, look no further than Parallel Lives.
