    DTVC Monologue, "One Last Shot"

In this DTVC Monologue I give a quick 20-minute take on the newest One Shot movie, "One Last Shot." I compare it to the other two, compare it to Adkins's recent output, and talk about director James Nunn, fight choreographer Tim Man and action coordinator Dan Styles. Then to finish, I talk about Dolph's part and how good it was. DTVC Podcast 282 "Lady Bloodfight"

In this episode I'm joined once again by Jeanette Ward from The Mundane Adventures of a Fangirl, this time to discuss the Amy Johnston film "Lady Bloodfight." Before that, we look at 2026 in film, which movies have done well and why, the ones that have flopped, and where we see things going for the rest of the year. Then with "Lady Bloodfight," we look at the story and the holes in it, but also the great fights, which is probably why we come to this film. DTVC Monologue, "Josie and the Pussycats"

We're trying something new on the DTVC Podcast feed, "DTVC Monologues" are 15-20 minute takes on a film I just watched. In this first one I look at 2001's "Josie and the Pussycats." It's one that people have been revisiting lately with a sense that maybe it was slept on when it was first released, but deserves another look. Did it? And was I able to make the case one way or the other inside of 20 minutes? DTVC Podcast 281 "Checkmate" and "Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn"

Ty from Comeuppance Reviews is back for his monthly spot on the pod as we look at two more movies that feature rappers, "Checkmate" and "Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn." With "Checkmate," we're pushing felony weight again in the world of Alex Maisonette and Fat Joe, and if it's possible, it might be even crazier than before! At least we have Old Timer Dave. Then on the second one, "Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn", William DeMeo leads your classic NYC mob story, with small parts by Ice-T and Ja Rule. Finally, our spotlight on a fight looks at the end fight in "Walking Tall." DTVC Extra 59, Four Mainstream Erotic Thrillers

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I look at four mainstream Erotic Thrillers. In the first segment, I talk about "Body Heat" and "Body Double," why I liked them, and the ways they share DNA with 90s DTV Erotic Thrillers, and ways they differ. In the second segment I talk about "Fatal Attraction" and "Basic Instinct," and with those I look at how "Fatal Attraction" isn't a paradigm that's used often in 90s DTV Erotic Thrillers, and how "Basic Instinct" propelled an already burgeoning subgenre at that time. Finally, in the third segment I talk about my second novel, "A Girl and a Gun," giving some background on how I came up with the initial idea, how the story evolved, and how it showed me that I could write novels more easily. DTVC Podcast 280 "Night Eyes" and "Night Eyes II"

We're joined once again by Jon Cross from the PM Entertainment Podcast and the After Movie Diner, this time to discuss "Night Eyes" and "Night Eyes II." With the first one, we look at where it sits as one of the first of the DTV Erotic Thrillers, the appearance of Cole S. McKay, and the plot holes that we love it in spite of. Then with the sequel, we look at Tweed's introduction to the series, how Andrew Stevens is as a lead, and more plot holes that we love it in spite of. Finally, after the end theme, we have bonus content, where Jon and I riff about Maine humorist Tim Sample, where else in the world you can have a "local humorist," and what a British Stephen King would sound like. You can find the PM Entertainment Podcast and After Movie Diner on all major podcatchers, and on YouTube. Our theme song is done by Jon Cross's Miscellaneous Plumbing Fixtures, which you can listen to on Spotify, or go here for his Bandcamp https://miscplumbingfixtures.bandcamp.com/ For other our Shannon Tweed and Andrew Stevens DTVC episode: 255: https://open.spotify.com/episode/3ZZiLvqBxvGh5TvHgWFNqG?si=y2u05DrXTD-Dznxw7Zp0DA Buy me a coffee! https://studio.buymeacoffee.com/dashboard For my author page on Amazon, go here: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Matthew-Poirier/author/B085HTVYNJ And you can grab our DTVC merch at our Threadless, https://dtvconnoisseur.threadless.com

DTVC Podcast 279 "Driven to Kill"

Scott Murphy from All 90s Action, All the Time and Bloody Sam is back to discuss another Steven Seagal DTV flick, this time "Driven to Kill." We have another not so bad one here, but I do my best to make a mess of it when I keep calling Seagal "Dolph". DTVC Extra 58, The Mandalorian

"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode I look at "The Mandalorian" Disney+ series, and the recent film "The Mandalorian and Grogu." In the first segment, I talk about the first two seasons, the atmosphere which it came out in, and why those two seasons worked so well. In the second segment I talk about the third season and why that one wasn't as well-received as the first two, and how that may have hurt momentum going into the movie, "The Mandalorian and Grogu," which underperformed at the box office. Finally, in the third segment I talk about my new flash fiction collection "Boston Stories Vol. 1," giving some background on how I came up with the initial ideas, and its journey from Myspace blog posts to self-published book.
