The Spartan Show and HorsePLAY! LIVE were amongst the first gaming talk shows on Twitch.TV, though we don't get that credit all the time. We paved the way for others during a time when non-gameplay content got a lot of crap. I am honored to be a part of the United Broadcasting Network (UBN) because Mike and gang are top-notch.
The Spartan Show has amazing production value. The intro/outro music, animations, intermissions, overlays.. Everything is brilliantly done. Mike is one of the hardest working people on Twitch.TV hands down. The Spartans put a lot of thought into their guests, sponsors, and topics. I love how they can tackle controversial topics without letting them go into dark places, too.
The latest theme show, the Adventurer's Guild (part of Tabletop Tuesdays), is a great addition to the UBN line-up. Hawke has an amazing voice and is one of the coolest geeks I've ever met.
Topics have ranged from indie games to ESRB ratings to the farse of "equal rights" (i.e. people wanting special treatment) and so much more. The rotating hosts each provide different perspectives, logic, and findings to back up their strong opinions. They don't go for mere shock value, either, which is nice.
Surely, this is not your typical brocast. The audience is as diverse as it comes and is as much a part of the live experience as the content itself. You GOT to watch the shows live. The viewers are involved and sometimes there are even call-ins. Tons of fun. Love these guys and happy to be teamed up with them!
Also, accept no substitutes. There are lots of biters going around blatantly stealing the segments and techniques used on TSS. I suppose imitation is flattery. It just goes to show that we're doing big things at UBN but, throughout it all, we're staying humble and focusing on people.. Because you have NOTHING without good people.
