    HOUR 3 - Minkah crushes Tomlin, Jeff Hathhorn, Debrief

    Did Mike Tomlin ‘ruin’ Minkah Fitzpatrick? The former Steelers safety talked about why he wasn’t utilized correctly in Pittsburgh in his final season or so. He says he’s at his best moving all over the field in different roles, but we didn’t see that from Fitzpatrick in his last few years with the team. Minkah could have played centerfield for the Pirates given where the Steelers had him lined up.     Tom Arth is one of the multiple Steelers coaches to speak highly of Drew Allar throughout training camp so far. It sounds like Allar has taken a few steps since rookie minicamp when we saw video of him being completely torn down to start over his process. How much will we find out about Allar tomorrow night? Who could we compare Allar too? For a QB that failed time and time again in college, is this game bigger than one against Ohio State? The guys didn’t think Allar was ever the best player on the field in college. Is tomorrow night a big one for Penn State fans? Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike confirmed that he was in Canton last night ahead of the Hall of Fame Game. Did Chris Berman lose his ass? Mike explained why Baker Mayfield could be the Steelers QB in 2027 and why he could actually sign for less money than expected. If Mayfield does come here, how good could he be? Mike made waves by telling the Pardon My Take guys that the Steelers could trade Aaron Rodgers at this year’s deadline if they get off to a rotten start – what was his reasoning?     Paul Skenes was pulled after 5 innings last night in Miami not because he was rocked or because he was laboring to nearly 100 pitches. Skenes was soft-tossing, by his standards, through the night – never topping 95 MPH. What is going on with him? Don Kelly explained why he pulled him and Paul explained why he didn’t fight him. The 2025 Cy Young winner clearly has something wrong. The guys wondered if it was the World Baseball Classic and if he chose Team USA over the team that signs his checks in 2026. Listeners ponder what is wrong with Paul Skenes. Former Penguin Tyler Kennedy joined the show. The Penguins signed Ville Koivunen to an 8-year contract last week. How did a player of his magnitude get $32M guaranteed? He scored 7 points last season. TK talked about the cheap contract he signed to stay with the Penguins in a year he scored 20+ goals. Tyler said the points don’t lie and he’s unsure why the Penguins would offer this deal. TK thinks Koivunen can eclipse 20 goals, but it’s a risk of a signing. Did it make other guys more valuable? Tyler said this is a big deal for someone like Ben Kindel and how he can leverage his performance for a new contract down the road. Tyler doesn’t think Sidney Crosby did anything too crazy on his birthday.
