This show is awesome. I think Americans are just fascinated with the accents, and the Scottish accent somehow makes everything funnier. Also, they really get people. We don’t want to think about the state of the world right now; we just are looking for something entertaining to listen to while we’re working or just hanging out. I love the fact that you leave the politics and drama out of it, so we can just enjoy Columbo et. al. To me, it’s really important that you do the same thing everyday — the structure of the show. I remember watching Letterman when I was a teen, and I noticed that he followed the same pattern every show, and it worked. SNL hasn’t changed how they do the show in 50 years. People like structure — even if they act like they don’t. 🤣🤣🤣 The funny thing about Letterman is that after his show, I would watch Columbo reruns at midnight or something. That’s how I got to know the show.
