Johanna better have been nominated for some mother of the year awards after this episode. She may be a touch overprotective for Hilda’s liking, but you can’t deny that she’s quite good at protecting Hilda.

But the mystery deepens. Johanna’s parents imprisoned that spider frog to protect her, but where are they now? We’ll find the answers, but for the next few weeks we have a new series to cover while David is away: Delicious in Dungeon!

It took the final season of the series, but we finally got to meet Hilda’s father: Anders! He’s sadly no bellkeeper, but he’s a wandering adventurer with a pathological aversion to commitment—and it hasn’t been doing good things to his daughter’s family life.

And this clearly won’t be the time for Anders to stick around and finally be Hilda’s dad, but on the balance it’s probably best that he got kidnapped by our shadowy figures rather than being pulped by a troll.

It’s the one and only episode featuring the one and only Eugene. Are you sad that we don’t have a fourth season? Knowing that this is all of the Eugene we’ll ever have is just a sad way to think about a great episode.

And the Freaky Friends also add a new member: Louise! Is this just missed opportunities: the episode? Oh well, we’ll always have season four in our hearts, and maybe Louise will make a couple of minor appearances…

He may not be tall, and he may not be strong, but the Giantslayer has a mission: annoy all the giants until they feel bad and leave. Hilda’s sad to see them go of course, but Halvor is very keen on it.

Do you wish the giants had stuck around? Do you think they owed something to humanity? Most importantly of all, do you think that humans owe anything to elfkind for… Well, everything?

Can you imagine any episode where Hilda learns what fairy mounds are and her not going to get stuck in one? Because while this may not be Astrid’s finest moment, she also really wants a visit.

Oh well, now we’re headed back to Trolberg. But it looks like a little piece of Tofoten is on its way to see Hilda. We’re not out of the fairy realm yet.

With the movie over it’s time for another season, sadly the final season of the show. But we have eight great episodes to look forward to!
