    A Sad Farewell to Sasja and Seena

    On today’s session, Madison Moffat shared some very sad news regarding the Queering The Air team; purely coincidentally, both Sasja Sydek and Seena Katayama are departing from 3CR. Seena has found an amazing career opportunity elsewhere in the media industry that sadly requires her to only perform such work with her new employer. Sasja has been a mainstay of Queering The Air. For a significant period she held the show up on her own while working hard to develop a team. Sasja has decided to sharpen her focus on  other obligations, and so departs QTA following an amazing contribution.     This episode of 3CR’s Queering the Air involved a conversation with three incredible contributors to our queer community. Oscar and Clare of the TGD Bookclub joined us to discuss the joyful fulfillment of communal reading and appreciation. Drag superstar Cerulean shared their insights on how gender diverse performance and drag workshops enrich the TGDNB culture.     Queer Iftars 2025 by Queer Muslim Naarm

    We were excited to welcome both co-founders of Queer Muslim Naarm, Sasja Sÿdek and Abdulrahman Katamish, known as Boudie. They shared insights about the upcoming Queer Iftars as Ramadan approached. With the holy month just around the corner, they had been actively working to secure funding, venues, and catering for these special queer community Iftar events throughout the month.  This year marked their second time organising these meaningful gatherings. During the episode, listeners learned about the motivations that inspired them to persist in hosting these Iftars, along with some fun and intriguing facts about Queer Muslim Naarm and the significance of this once-a-year event. We also discussed the various organisations that had shown their support and why their backing was so important, as well as how they, in turn, supported other organisations in leading and creating more queer Iftars during the Ramadan period.  It was an engaging conversation that shed light on the vibrant and essential work they they were doing!     Lets go lesbians. lets go!: Lesbirun chats about run clubs and community

    Our host, Seena, talked to Hannah and Helen from Lesbirun about all things running, walking and community. Lesbirun, a Naarm/Melbourne based inclusive run club, started from one member to over 100 people running, walking and chatting together each week.We talked about the lesbian community, and sober spaces of meeting people from our community.
