Here is what I'll discuss in today's episode: 🟢 Bill 4758: The Big Crackdown... this bans anything with THC for human consumption and lots more. 🟢 Bill 4759: The Targeted Approach... this has a hemp beverage carveout, similar to what we've recently seen in other states.  🟢 Bill 3924: The One To Watch... this shifts to CBD focused regulation, a focus on banning synthetic cannabinoids, a total THC standard, and more (like problematic language around "psychoactive"). You may hear the term “marijuana” used in some of my videos. While I personally believe the word is outdated, unscientific, and rooted in racially charged propaganda, it still appears in federal and state law — which makes it necessary in legal conversations. As an attorney, I use the language defined by law when discussing federally illegal substances. There is currently no federal legal definition for "cannabis"... but there is for “hemp” and “marijuana," so clarity matters. When referring to THC content and legal classifications, that’s when you’ll hear the word used. But make no mistake: in my eyes, it’s all cannabis.

    Government making certain FEELINGS illegal (not ingredients)?

    The government is no longer deciding what ingredients are illegal, but rather, what FEELINGS are illegal...  The conversation used to focus on 'natural' ingredients being best (think hemp, functional mushrooms, a reemergence of yarrow root, etc). And regulation used to focus around ingredients. But when an ingredient has other effects (like psychoactive effects), how does the FDA regulate?  A regulatory mindset shift is happening. Not just natural vs. synthetic — they're moving towards 'impairment," retainer caps, or how things make you feel. This is wild. Let's discuss what is happening legally here in the US.
