The Break: Why I Love Fantasy Festivals; X-Men 97, Fallout and the Vatican

The Break: Why I Love Fantasy Festivals; X-Men 97, Fallout and the Vatican

This weekend, I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of my cosplaying friends again at Haarzuilens Castle during the Elfia Fantasy Festival. I vividly remember my first visit to this festival and how out of place I felt as a priest among thousands of people dressed in fantasy costumes. But I kept coming back year after year, and made lots of friends that shared so much of their lives with me.

I talk about it in this episode of The Break, and I also discuss X-Men 97, the Fallout TV show and recent developments in the Vatican. In the premium version of the show for my patrons, I talk about intermittent fasting, Spanish Tortilla, the theology of Diablo IV and more.

The Break: The future of Star Trek, the Star Wars Prequels today, when does faith become superstition?

There is one aspect of Star Trek Discovery that keeps bugging me now that the series enters its final season. And looking back on the Star Wars Prequels: do those movies still hold up after all these years?  I answer a listener question about a particular form of prayer that borders on superstition.

In the premium part of the show for my patrons, I talk about new types of food to try out when I'm back in Rome, I tell you how I use AI to help me in my creative process and I share my excitement about the upcoming PC version of the Ghost of Tsushima.

I’ve learned so much from his break Such a brilliant priest
We are blessed to call him father

Turned Hard Left

Father Roderick used to be awesome. But lately he has become a far far leftist shill. He openly parrots far left talking points and even attacks leftists for not being extreme enough. Either he is a despicable person or just sucking up to the woke mob to stay out of their cross hairs.
