Stacey Harris is CEO of podcast production agency, Uncommonly More. Each week Stacey shares actionable strategies you can use to grow your business with your podcast. Meaning you’re not just looking to get more listeners, but clients.
She’ll share strategies, support, and inspiration on navigating your podcast to-do list, and getting better results from your show.
Why Hiring An Editor Doesn't Create More Downloads
What's funny is one of the things that comes up a lot when it comes to hiring our agency or when someone is talking about having hired an editor before, they'll say that they didn't see a direct increase in their downloads. Today, I want to just, for once and for all, squash this idea that hiring an editor or upleveling the sound of your podcast automatically means more downloads, and what you're going to want to do instead to get more downloads and more importantly, how that investment and support can pay off on their download side. All right, let's get into it.

The Best Sales Tool You Haven't Created for Your Podcast
When we’re talking about building assets with a podcast, we have to be looking at it converting, it resulting in business. That’s what I want to talk about in this episode of Uncommonly More because there are some core sales assets you need to be building with your show and we’re going to dig into what those are today.

Three Lies Podcasters Tell Themselves That Will Ruin Their Show
It’s a fun one this week, we’re going to be calling up some BS.
Specifically I’m going to call BS on some of the things I hear from people the most… things like
...strategy means no creativity
...the right way to podcast
...it’s just about nurturing and adding value
I want to dig in her because as dramatic as it sounds in the title, Three Lies Podcasters Tell Themselves That Will Ruin Their Show, these are the three BS things I hear over and over again that are chipping away at your ability to get the results you want from your show.
It’s a quick one, so if you’re not 100000% in LOVE with everything about your show top to bottom, go listen to this show… and if you are 100000% in LOVE with everything about your show top to bottom, think to the last time you weren’t and then go listen to this episode.

Your Process is the Problem
We’re pretty sure we’re going to get some pushback on this week’s podcast episode.
Because we’re calling us all out on our BS around our podcasting processes.
The truth is, so, so, so often clients come to us TIRED of making their podcast. And almost always, the issue is the process of how they are making it.
And let us just say this right now - not having a process IS A PROCESS.
And no, having a process won’t mess up your creativity or box you in, trust us on this one, we have the privilege of working with some amazingly creative people and tightening up their process has actually INCREASED their creativity (seriously, this is their words, not ours).
The reality is, our processes are what affect our feelings towards what we are working on.
And often there are just 3 key areas or changes we need to make to really make our process feel good.
We’re telling you these 3 areas (along with some other bonuses) in this week’s show. If you’re feeling even a little worn out or stuck, this one’s for you.

Stop The Podcast Pain: How to Fall In Love With Your Show Again
I'm really excited because we're gonna talk about falling in love with your show again. I think we're in that time of year for a lot of us where we are shifting from sort of the summer slow down to looking at what we want to do with the second half of our year. What we want to get back on track on, the gap we need to close to hit the goals we set at the beginning of the year.

Should You Have Guests on Your Podcast
Is having a guest on your podcast the right move for your show?
You may be surprised, but our answer is not always “yes”.
There are a lot of people out there who say that you “must” have guests on your podcast to grow your show. That you need their audience. That guest shows are the best/fastest/easiest way to get exposure.
This is true for SOME shows, but not all.
Your job is to be discerning if your show will be positively impacted by guest shows.
Don’t worry though, we’re taking the guesswork out of it. We’re giving you the questions to ask and things to consider that will let you determine the answer for yourself in this week’s re-released episode (yep, it’s that good).
