Polymath World # Episode 33 - Dr Gillian Straine

ATMOSPHERIC PHYSICS and THEOLOGY Dr Gillian Straine is one of the most remarkable people I have ever met. A tremendous mind, she did a PhD in atmospheric physics at Imperial College London when she suffered from lymphatic cancer, undergoing a long and painful chemotherapy journey. Contracting cancer at such a young age was a significant blow and although she recovered, her journey of healing took much longer. Here she rediscovered her passion for the humanities and pursued theology. Eager to help as many as possible to recover physically, psychologically and spiritually from serious ill health, she became a priest and now runs a health and wellbeing charity that has served thousands of cancer sufferers and the terminally ill. She has written two books on cancer recovery and science and religion.
