Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti gears up for Nathan's Hotdog Eating Contest

TFADB Magnets available now at the shop! The simplest and purist of sports is returning to Chicago…. With Nathan’s Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest just days away, we sit down with professional eater Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti to discuss defending his title and the return of Joey Chestnut. Patrick lets us know how to get over the mental edge that comes with training to beat his previous record of 58 hot dogs from last year. He tells us how the heat during showtime can affect how many glizzys go down. He also lets us know the most unique thing that he’s eaten…. and regretted. Patrick shares what he’s learned about himself through eating contests and how setting goals can lead to great things like discovering new recipes. There’s a “No Swimwear!” clause in the Nathan’s contest rule book because of Patrick, so we took time to explore loopholes…. Some tearaway pants are going to be needed for this one. “Stoner Forgecast” with JD and Chris

Disclaimer… sorta, but not really We have to start with a disclaimer because this episode is nerdy and very specific to the online game Forge of Empires. It’s a fun distraction, possibly addicting, and does great at triggering Chris’s OCD. That said, forge forward. If’ you’re interested in playing with us, here’s Chris’s FOE invite link! It automatically adds you to our friends list so we can help you build and conquer along the way. Plus, he’ll get some in-game diamonds…. We’ll explain later... Okay, one more disclaimer. When, or should I say if, you decide to play, the mandatory tutorial at the very beginning, though helpful, does take some time. (About a half hour or so) We recommend that you grab your favorite drink and get through it. We’ll be on the other side waiting. JD and Chris have been playing Forge of Empires for over 12 years. It’s comparable to the game “Sim City” for you millennials. There’s also endless slews of quests involving diplomacy, battling, joining guilds, and trading. The boys talk about all of the mistakes they made at the beginning. They also talk about the early days of age camping and running guilds. They also know what great buildings are essential to make your city powerful as well as discuss the evolution of the game itself which seemingly never ends. Travel with us from the stone, or should I say the stoned age through the iron age as we bring you our first installment of “Stoner Forgecast”

They eventually talk about how Chris landed on a weed farm in the middle of nowhere in Aguanga California,. JD showed up to see what it was like and learns a lot about the shady grow culture. From there, JD and Chris talk about being stuck in the desert, being stuck in their minds, and dealing with all the mental baggage that came along the way. They share laughs as they talk about making walking sticks in Chris's garage during the off days of weekend renegading. They also discuss Chris's infamous woman Nordic made pleasuring device known as the "Knub Thumper 1," which he's serious about marketing... He just needs a little feedback from the ladies.... It's an Album Release Party! Check out and pick up From The Start's latest album "Neighbors" Guitars for Vets Chris talks about working with Guitars for Vets, which gives guitar lessons to PTSD veterans while they're on their journey.
