I have loved the music of The Steel Wheels for many years and cannot wait to see them in person again. The songs they have written for us are so powerful and touch the heart, like all of their music. I wish I had been paying attention when they asked for people’s stories, don’t we all have a story we’d like memorialized? I have no words to adequately describe the emotion, gratitude and love for this band. My daughter Sharon was a huge fan. My Name Is Sharon was written for and about her.. she passed in 2013 from epilepsy. This beautiful song captures the true soul and essence of this amazing young woman. Thank you from the bottom of my broken heart ..

It’s clear from this podcast that the members of the band listen to their fans with the same care and intensity that their fans listen to the band. I’ve been fortunate or maybe blessed to have experienced the Steel Wheels in live concerts in Indiana, Michigan, and Virginia quite a few times. A favorite moment for me is when a song ends and there’s a silent moment from the audience as the last notes fade, then almost a deep breath before the applause starts. The respect and appreciation flows both ways, just as it should.
