    The Australian Waler horse is known for its stamina and courage as well as its ability to perform in the worst of conditions. Over 130,000 Waler horses were deployed in the Middle East campaigns and during that time earned the respect and admiration of the Light Horse Troopers who rode them into history at Beersheba and other battles.  They were also used by Merrill's Marauders in the treacherous New Guinea and Burma campaigns in WWII, again earning respect for their toughness and endurance.  This story is a tribute to the breed.     On July 2nd,1966, 3 young suburban Chicago women drove to a popular beach south of Chicago on Lake Michigan, parked their car, and walked to a spot on the beach at Indiana Dunes State Park. They were last seen getting on a boat with 3 men- and from there they disappeared, never to be seen again. Their blankets and personal effects were all left behind. A huge manhunt ensued. Detectives were left without a shred of evidence- despite lots of clues to their private lives and their associates.     THE LAST STAND AT OSOWEIC FORTRESS: THE BATTLE THAT INSPIRED SABATON'S "THE ATTACK OF THE DEAD MEN"

    In 1915, Russian defenders launched a gruesome counterattack that repelled the German invaders.  What made it so gruesome?     The movie Raiders of the Lost Ark was the highest grossing movie of 1981 and ensuring lasting stardom for Harrison Ford and Debra Allen. The plot, centered in the 1930's, featured an archeology professor from the US vying against Hitler's agents to recover the Lost Ark of the Covenant, which the Germans believed had power they could harness for war. In this story we cover the true story of the German quest to prove Aryan supremacy by searching the world for archeological proof of their superiority as well as the challenges faced by the movie actors and production staff-challenges which included working with thousands of poisonous snakes and in extreme temperatures.
