AbdulRazzak Junaid

Dr. AbdulRazzak Junaid is an Islamic scholar, imam, educator and specialist in Qur’anic studies, fiqh and the sciences of Qur’anic recitation. He holds a PhD in Qur’anic Studies from American Open University, a Master’s degree in Fiqh from the Islamic University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah from the Islamic University of Madinah. Dr. AbdulRazzak Junaid spent six years studying in Madinah and was among the youngest students accepted to the Islamic University of Madinah. Alongside his formal university education, he studied traditionally under numerous scholars and developed particular expertise in the Qur’an and its modes of recitation. He holds ijāzāt in the Ten Qirā’āt from eleven scholars, including chains of transmission regarded among the shortest connecting contemporary reciters to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. His studies have also included advanced training in Islamic jurisprudence, and he holds an ijāzah permitting him to issue fatwā. Continuing his academic and traditional Islamic studies, Dr. AbdulRazzak Junaid is pursuing a second Master’s degree in Hadith while undertaking advanced studies in fiqh and tafsīr under senior scholars. He currently serves as Assistant Imam and Youth Department Head at Valley Ranch Islamic Center (VRIC) in Irving, Texas, where he is involved in Islamic education, community programming and the religious development of Muslim youth. He also teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Guidance College. Through his lectures, khutbahs and educational programs, Dr. AbdulRazzak Junaid teaches on subjects including Qur’an, tafsīr, Hadith, fiqh, Islamic spirituality and contemporary issues facing Muslims, combining traditional Islamic scholarship with community education and youth development.
