John’s bestselling book Killer in the Kremlin has been updated with new chapters on the Ukraine war and details the tyranny wrought by Vladimir Putin over the past quarter-century. This conversation begins with John’s gripping account of tracking the Russian leader's use of brutal warmongering, terror and information warfare to control his country’s population and wage successive wars on its neighbours. Speaking in March 2023, John describes the horror of Russian attacks on Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure, and how he remains optimistic that his nemesis will, in the end, fail - and Ukraine’s spirited and skilful resistance will triumph in the war.
