Flash Forward is a show about possible (and not so possible) future scenarios. What would the warranty on a sex robot look like? How would diplomacy work if we couldn’t lie? Could there ever be a fecal transplant black market? (Complicated, it wouldn’t, and yes, respectively, in case you’re curious.) Hosted and produced by award winning science journalist Rose Eveleth, each episode combines audio drama and journalism to go deep on potential tomorrows, and uncovers what those futures might really be like. The future is going to be weird, so let's get ready for it together.

Easy-going, science-fictiony fun

I discovered this little gem due to other podcast that I listen to (don't remember which one) and I instantly fell in love with Rose's voice. I like the "staccato" way she's speaking and I'm pretty sure she wiggles her eyebrows, too.
The format of this podcast is interesting to say the least: half of the show presents us with a possible future in which a now emerging technology is widely used; the rest of it is spent on interviews with people from the field, trying to find out if that future is remotely possible. Some may be left a bit disappointed that some technologies will take a longer time than expected to have a significant impact on our lives (no 3D printed organs in our lifetime, sorry), but the overall experience is great and it leaves you a bit smarter.

Check it out, it's cool!
