When decisions are tough with Megan Jones

Big decisions in motherhood often come with uncertainty—especially when it comes to balancing family, work, calling, and the many demands on our time. In this episode, the tables are turned as Megan Jones interviews Courtney about her decision to step away as host of Pardon the Mess. The conversation explores the tension many moms feel when navigating career decisions, learning when to say yes or no, and discerning God’s direction in changing seasons. Together, they talk honestly about the twists and turns that can come with work and motherhood, the challenge of trusting God with the unknown, and the importance of following his leading even when the path forward isn’t fully clear. This episode is a thoughtful encouragement for anyone walking through a season of transition or making difficult decisions for themselves or their family. 'Just Put All Homework in the Bin' Georgia Jones & Kelsey Parker on Homework Meltdowns, Living Life & Everything In Between

This week on Mum's The Word, Georgia Jones and Kelsey Parker are back, and nothing is off-limits. Georgia gets emotional recounting Danny, her dad and Cooper's first ever three-generation golf trip (and admits to feeling a tiny bit of mum jealousy about it). Kelsey opens up about choosing to actually live life, why she's done with self-doubt, and how watching people relocate to Asia on TikTok is becoming dangerously tempting. Then it's the Top Five: things that shouldn't be homework. The answer? Everything. From impossible recycling projects to maths neither of them can do, they pitch a dream app where someone else builds your kid's school project for you: "Shit, but not too shit." Plus: Georgia's decade-old wedding thank you card confession, the joy of five minutes of silence in the car after drop-off, re-gifting etiquette, and the moment Georgia asks if Brazilian is a language? Grab a cuppa, get comfy, and join Georgia and Kelsey for another episode of Mum's The Word. A Create Podcast Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    Week 37: Spread God’s word - Epaphroditus

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14–15) Epaphroditus is not a name that many people know from the Bible, but his story is incredible. He was sent by the Philippians to bring a gift to Paul while he was in prison, but he did more than deliver a package—he ministered, encouraged, and served so faithfully that he became sick and nearly died. Once he recovered, he carried back the Letter to the Philippians, making sure that Paul’s message reached the church. Paul describes Epaphroditus as a minister, brother, coworker, and soldier. He was totally committed to both Paul and Jesus, and his story is a reminder that God uses all people to spread his word. Just like Epaphroditus was entrusted with a message, so are we. As soon as our kids accept Jesus, their mission begins. Sharing the gospel doesn’t require a microphone or a mission trip to a different city or country. Our mission to spread God’s truth happens in everyday conversations, acts of kindness, and bold faith. Whether at school, on the playground, or at home, our children carry the light of Jesus wherever they go. We are God’s first plan to spread the gospel, and not one of us is called to be quiet about it. So this week, let’s pray that our kids grow to know, love, and follow Jesus, and that they are so excited about their faith that they can’t help but share the hope of it all. Jesus, I pray that _______ will respond to your call to make disciples and share the gospel wherever they go. May they live in a way that reflects you working in their hearts. Give them the courage they need to share with others, and when they do, may they do so lovingly and gracefully. Amen. How Christians Can Navigate Mental Health and AI with Wisdom :: Haley Scully [Ep 573]

In this conversation, Haley Scully shares her journey into biblical counseling, ministry, and helping people find real hope in the middle of today’s mental health crisis. With a background in counseling and ministry through Hope for the Heart, Haley discusses the importance of caring for one another biblically while staying rooted in God’s truth rather than chasing cultural counseling trends. We talk about the growing need for biblical answers to anxiety, pain, disappointment, and emotional struggles — and why true healing comes from addressing the heart, not simply assigning blame. Haley opens up personally about wrestling with unmet expectations, trusting God through singleness, and learning what it truly means to believe in His goodness even when life doesn’t look the way we hoped. We also dive into one of the most relevant conversations happening today: faith and AI. Haley shares how Hope for the Heart partnered with Pray.com to create AI tools informed by 40 years of biblical counseling content and wisdom, helping ensure people searching for answers online are pointed toward truth grounded in Scripture. In this episode, we discuss: How experiences shape our emotions and reactions Finding healing through God instead of blame Trusting God when life doesn’t go according to plan How Christians can approach AI and technology with wisdom Why the Church should engage culture instead of fear it Using technology as a tool for discipleship and biblical guidance Connect with Haley Scully:  Website: Hope For The Heart  Instagram: Hope for the Heart (@hopefortheheart) Facebook: Hope for the Heart Links Mentioned:  Pray: The World's #1 App for Daily Prayer and Biblical Audio Content  Hope For The Heart - Event Page  Related Episodes: Rescuing the Girl in You :: Chrystal Evans Hurst [Ep 172] Broken Crayons Still Color :: Toni Collier [Ep 267] Freedom from Anxiety :: Ashley Willis [Ep 180] Featured Sponsors:  Storyworth: This year give Mom a gift that helps her reflect on her life with fresh perspective–and gives your whole family the gift of her stories. 'I'd Rather Be Cut Open Than Push' Holly Hagan-Blyth & Kelsey Parker on Birth Fears, Grief & Geordie Shore

This week on Mum's The Word, Kelsey Parker is joined by the brilliant Holly Hagan-Blyth, host of Cbeebies Parenting Helpline and former Geordie Shore star, for an incredibly open, funny and moving conversation that covers everything from pregnancy confessions to navigating life's hardest moments. Holly, who's pregnant with baby number two, opens up about full-blown nesting mode (she panelled her entire front room in an hour and a half), why she's choosing another planned C-section, and the very real, and very specific fear, that's kept her away from natural birth. Let's just say it involves pushing, pooing, and a husband who hasn't heard her fart in ten years. The pair then dive into the story behind son Alpha Jax's unforgettable name, the baby name shortlist for number two (Alessia Wild Bloom, anyone?), and why the name they've actually chosen might surprise everyone. The conversation takes a deeper turn as Holly speaks honestly about losing her sister six months ago, the frustration of being told how grief is "supposed" to hit, and why showing up and being strong doesn't mean you're not grieving. Kelsey shares her own reflections on loss, anniversaries, and how her children have been her greatest source of purpose. They also look back at Holly's Geordie Shore days from walking into the house at just 18, to nine pairs of eyelashes held on with hair glue, to the audition answer that had producers rubbing their hands together. Plus, the realities of the influencer world, why four million followers doesn't automatically mean business success, and how a Club biscuit addiction led Holly to discover nervous system regulation and her true passion in fitness and postpartum wellbeing. It's honest, it's hilarious, and it's a reminder that none of us have it all figured out. Grab a cuppa, get comfy, and join Kelsey and Holly for another episode of Mum's the Word. Week 36: A legacy of faith - Eunice and Lois

I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also. (2 Timothy 1:5) Eunice and Lois are very briefly mentioned as the mother and grandmother of Timothy, but they are known for passing on a legacy of sincere faith. Have you ever thought about your kids being grandparents or parents one day? It’s incredible to think that what you pour into your kids now will influence what they pour into their own kids and impact generations to come. Sometimes, raising kids can feel mundane and like an unseen role, when the truth is that this important work can actually raise up generations of faith-filled men and women. This feels like a lot of pressure, but faith is so often caught, not taught. If we model a sincere faith to our kids, they are likely to follow the same path. We don’t know what the future holds for our kids. Whether they become parents and grandparents or not, they will have an influence on the next generation of believers. As they know, love, and follow Jesus, they aren’t just impacting the world directly in front of them. They are also impacting people they don’t even know yet. This week, let’s pray that our kids see the bigger calling on their lives and that their sincere faith will ripple out to many generations. Jesus, I pray that __________ is a godly influence on everyone around them, that they live out a sincere faith in a way that influences their family, their friends, and their future family as well. Lord, I pray that you would begin to create a legacy of faith in my children to love God and love others.
