In this episode, we went a little deeper and talked about some more challenging and thought-provoking topics — while still keeping the conversation in Egyptian Arabic and accessible for learners. We talked about consciousness and collective consciousness, and how we as humans influence each other and the world around us. We also talked about the trap we may all be caught in because of social media, algorithms, and metrics, and how these things can influence what we think about, what we see, and what we care about. We discussed The Telepathy Tapes and the idea that some people may have developed the ability to communicate with others without speaking — something called telepathy (التخاطر) in Arabic. From there, we got into a bigger question: Can artificial intelligence have consciousness? If humans created AI, could it eventually develop some kind of consciousness or awareness of its own?
