Noir Confidential

Noir Confidential draws upon the era of filmmaking known as Film Noir. Today, the genre is called Neo-Noir, but the same concepts, tropes, and techniques are used to reflect today's feelings of inevitability, cynicism and defeat. The pessimism, distrust, and greed displayed in classic Film Noir movies like "The Maltese Falcon" and "The Third Man" speak to a society racked by geopolitical conflict and economic disparity. All the elements that sparked the Film Noir heyday have returned to haunt society, and a new class of cynical anti-heroes and manipulative Femme Fatales have arrived to exorcise their demons by finding their elusive MacGuffin. Occasionally we will present a classic radio play from the 1940s and early 50s: some Dashiell Hammett (Sam Spade) and Raymond Chandler (Philip Marlowe), but to be completely upfront we are here to promote audiobooks in general and more specifically my own books like Deception, Delusion, Dilemma, Diversion, and Defection.Coming very soon is a special Noir Confidential Premiere Exclusive, CULT - The Podcast Movie. That's right podcast fans, we're bringing back Theatre of The Mind, radio plays for the podcast era. CULT is a movie script I wrote based on a short story published in my book Noir II. I've rewritten the story and turned it into a movie script. It is currently being produced as a special presentation just for my podcast subscribers. I hope you enjoy it.

AudioZoo Podcast Drama Network Unveils a New Tale of the Extraordinary Ordinary: "The Man Who Wasn't - The Story of Amadeus Nickels" TORONTO, ON - The AudioZoo Podcast Drama Network is proud to announce the release of its latest special edition short story, "The Man Who Wasn't - The Story of Amadeus Nickels". Written by acclaimed creator Jerry Bader and produced by the duo of Jerry Bader and Sash Mutze, this production offers a whimsical yet poignant look at the "human stock photograph" that was Amadeus Nickels. The Everyman with a Seven-Million-Dollar Secret Amadeus Nickels was a man of little consequence. For twenty years, he lived a life defined by mathematical precision: waking at 7:27 AM. He ate a breakfast of cinnamon oatmeal and went to a silent job in a basement office. He was a man who existed in a vacuum, invisible to a world that found him unremarkably ordinary. However, behind the old-fashioned fedora and the routine of chicken salad sandwiches lay a fortune hidden in plain sight. A Production of Sound and Style This special edition is more than just a narrative; it is a stylistic tribute to classic storytelling. Vocal Performance: The narrator delivers the story in a style reminiscent of the whimsical, rhythmic cadence found in Pushing Daisies. Cast of Characters: Featuring the mysterious Georgi, a Greek popcorn vendor who saw the "good soul" in Amadeus, and the abrasive clerk at "Betsy's Gift Shop" who wasn't actually named Betsy. The Catalyst: A simple 10-dollar greeting card and a yellow envelope smeared with red nail polish that ultimately served as a vessel for a life-changing "Last Will and Testament". The Mystery of the Demise "The Man Who Wasn't" explores the mystery of why a healthy, average man would simply stop waking up. Was it a biological failure, or did Amadeus Nickels grow tired of a world that annoyed him? Experience the Story Join us for a tale of the human condition that proves even the most invisible among us can leave an indelible mark. Listen Now: https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-5hka2-1a9b777 Back in the day, radio dramas were called "Theatre of the Mind"; listening audiences could close their eyes and visualize the stories unfolding in their heads as the audio played.
