Meanwhile on the House side, there are two Democratic incumbents facing off against each other in two different districts: one in Dallas and one in Houston. Janet Mills dropped her bid last week, clearing the way for her primary opponent Graham Platner to run as the Democratic candidate. Platner will try and defeat Republican Sen. Susan Collins, something Democrats have been trying to do for time in memoriam. Mills dropping out is a blow to Sen. Chuck Schumer, who recruited the governor into that race. But Mills was trailing Platner and set up to lose that primary handily.
