Enemy in Paris

For reasons beyond my understanding, I started watching Emily in Paris a couple of years ago after feeling like I just couldn’t escape it. I ended up watching the whole thing and was left with an icky feeling and a question of how on earth I had sat through something so bad? Or was it so bad it was good…? Either way, I felt terrible. Then when I heard Sam mention his new podcast on the Office Ladies (which I’ve been following since the beginning - truly miss you Sam!), I thought “Oh boy, you couldn’t pay me to rewatch Emily in Paris!” … Cut to today and I have somehow watched every single episode AGAIN while listening to your podcast and - sigh! - eventually woke up in a haze at the end of season three with a severe feeling of nausea and shame. The one redeeming reflection is that the fact that I watched the whole thing again has little to do with the actual show and everything to do with the two of you - your incredible chemistry and astute observations make the podcast just as addictive as the Darren Starr show cocktail formula itself. I’m a Swede who has spent the past decade as an expat in North America and also worked as a nanny in Paris many years ago (actually in Chantilly where I heard they filmed parts of the new season!) so there are many references both in the show and on the podcast I relate - and laugh out loud - to. Love the podcast, hate Emily!

As many other listeners, I began listening to Enemy in Paris after hearing about it on Office Ladies (please do more episodes with Jenna and Angela!). I’ve never watched a single episode of Emily in Paris, nor do I’ve any intention to do so. But this podcast is still very entertaining and a lot of fun to listen to (a great background listen that doesn’t require too much brain power and I mean that in the BEST way). Sam and Bec are funny, witty, snarky and bounce off each other well and makes every episode a fun time. I also appreciate their honesty and openness about real life struggles and situations (sometimes potentially embarrassing ones but they take it all in stride), that slips in here and there between the breakdown of the show. Keep up the good work! Love the podcast, hate Emily ;)

Like so many others, I followed Sam over from Office Ladies and was genuinely sad he was let go from SiriusXM. I had watched all the episodes of Emily in Paris prior to this, and it was always infuriated by Alfie’s character. This podcast vindicates and justifies that and so much more flaws in the show that I had missed. On a related note, I love Sam’s crude sense of humor, he has a fantastic OnAir voice and the chemistry between him and Beck really works. Shout out to Beck from a Kiwi from New Zealand living in Sweden. Keep up the good work, I look forward to each new episode!
