Ep. 228: Is There A Place for Faith in Women's Health?

Why is there a Christian book about women's health and fertility? What does faith have to do with PAP smears and endometriosis?? Too often, the only time we see religion take part in conversations around reproductive health is when there's controversy or debate. That is not what we're about, or what our book is about. If you're interested in hearing just a hint of why we talk about faith alongside women's health, this episode is for you. NOTE: This episode is appropriate for most audiences but does mention sex ed. In today's episode, Caitlin talks with medical school professor, Dr. Anita Showalter, about:  - why the standards for women's healthcare feel so low  - what every day women can to do raise the bar  - the importance of setting your physician up for success  - how we can get access to health and wellness resources even outside of the doctor's office If you're feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, or stuck by the status quo of reproductive healthcare, this encouraging episode is for you. Ep. 225: Making Hard Medical Decisions in the Unknown, with client Hanna

Hanna prefers holistic medicine and homeopathy to modern medical advancements so when her doctor recommended a laparoscopy for possible endometriosis, she wasn't thrilled. This began a journey of determining whether or not this surgery would be right for her specifically and she shares that honest journey with us in today's podcast. Whether or not you suspect endometriosis, many of us will face some tough medical calls in the midst of the unknown and it's hard to make a decision when we don't know the future. How do we find peace with the next step forward? We discuss these and more in today's episode. NOTE: This episode is appropriate for all audiences.
