We explore oyster and kelp farming and ocean-based community engagement through Will's experience with two youth-capacity building programs: OceanBridge and CityHive Envirolab.     Youth-led Innovation Mobilizing Local Action

    In this episode of the Y Talk Climate Podcast, we discuss the amazing work of our guests, Michelle and Jeremy Muchilwa, who are the cofounders of Osiepe Sango (Friends of Lake Victoria), an organization that seeks to restore the Lake Victoria ecosystem. During the pandemic, they developed the Ziwa Safi Citizen App, which empowers their community to collect data on plastic pollution in order to make the local change themselves. Additionally, they highlight the issues of plastic pollution in Lake Victoria, the significance of youth summits with a local focus, the challenges of balancing school and environmental organizing, and the importance of adult allies in amplifying youth voices from the Global South in climate action.
