I'm an Electronics and Communications Engineer by profession working in a semiconductor company. I started my programming journey using microsoft excel vba to automate creating reports because i'm too lazy. Doing repetitive stuff drives me nuts. Excel VBA becomes my greatest weapon in the electronics world where IDEs are not so common. From VBA, i moved on to teach myself VB.Net then C#. But currently the company that i work for is using VB .Net for our internal tools development.
Just when i thought i was doing a good job at programming because I understood OOP well enough that i was ahead of my colleagues because all of us are not really programmers by profession.
Then i met you guys thru this podcast! I thought OOP is all there is... but man, i was so wrong... the first episode that i listened to was episode 48 how to write amazing function. I downloaded this episode because of the catchy title. Half-way thru, I stopped, took a deep breath and told myself... "it's ok, forgive yourself and move on... follow their advise and go on and try to be a better programmer."
This episode opened my eyes and made me think about how can i become a better programmer. I knew, my life will never be the same again! Thanks to you guys!
I downloaded all episodes for clean code and design patterns series and i even bought the clean code book! (If i had known you earlier, i might have joined contest for a chance to win!)
I wouldn't mind if you send me the GOF book though! wink wink!
I cannot thank you enough for creating this podcast and for opening my eyes and showing me the way to be a better programmer!
You guys are amazing!!!
