Classic Sermons that are like onions
I find myself coming back to these teachings forming a very good base understanding about the Christian Bible, where we’ve come and where we are going. Tim Mackie teaches the Bible in a very different way that I’ve ever experienced.
These teachings replay in my mind as I come back to listen, I find different facets and layers to the teachings. It’s impacted me in vastly different ways that have gently forced me to relook at the world, my interaction, my role in the beautiful world that God has given to us. Thank you Tim Mackie. I recommend these teachings to whoever wants to deepen their understanding of the Bible, their relationship with Jesus, and move towards being a light to this world. Porque No Forever.
Personal awakening and church awakening
Tim my name is Mazen and I work for a church in Singapore. It’s an international church with southern Baptist roots. I’m African American from the Deep South so i grew up entirely different from the environment I’m serving in. I’ve realised from this podcast on Jonah that the Nineveh is the SBC community for me to a degree. I truly have had a wake up call in my perception of my life and what God is doing. I’ve also seen that Jonah really seems to reflect evangelical culture in the states. Coming from a community and heritage where social movements literally begin in the church, the silence of the western church on social justice issues that are directly addressed in scripture angers me and has made me a bit bitter serving an international branch of the SBC culture. I also realise thy God has probably sent me here as one who is a sleep in ways but also as an alarm clock. Thank you for his word! It’s very timely and has social implications ALL over it! Appreciate you and your ministry with the Bible project as well. Tschüss!
