Today the story comes from Gaza.

In a place called Gaza, many homes, schools, and hospitals have been broken. It's like a giant city of building blocks that has tumbled down. Now, many people want to help rebuild this community. But the task is very, very difficult. First, they have to clean up all the broken pieces, which takes a lot of time. Then, they can start building new, safe homes for families and schools for children to learn in. Everyone hopes to create a brighter and better future, but it will require a lot of hard work and help from friends all over the world.

Our first word is 'rebuild'. R-E-B-U-I-L-D, rebuild. It means 重建. It's what you do after something is broken, you build it again! A synonym for rebuild is 'restore', and the opposite is 'destroy'. Let's make a sentence: The workers will rebuild the old bridge. 工人們將會重建那座舊橋。

Our second word is 'community'. C-O-M-M-U-N-I-T-Y, community. It means 社區或群體. A community is a group of people who live in the same area. A synonym for community is 'society', and the opposite could be 'individual'. A sentence could be: Our community has a beautiful park. 我們的社區有一座漂亮的公園。

Our third word is 'difficult'. D-I-F-F-I-C-U-L-T, difficult. This means 困難的. When something is not easy to do, it's difficult. A synonym is 'hard', and the opposite is 'easy'. For example: This math problem is very difficult. 這道數學題非常困難。

Our last word today is 'hope'. H-O-P-E, hope. It means 希望. It's a wonderful feeling that something good will happen. A synonym is 'optimism', and the opposite is 'despair'. Let's use it in a sentence: We have hope for a peaceful future. 我們對和平的未來抱有希望。
