Nowhere Else Podcast

DJ

A podcast for the inner escape artist within, desperately on the path to create a life we don't need to escape anymore. Sometimes the world feels heavy, there isn't a safe place left for your wandering soul. But the desire to escape your thoughts, feelings, the world before you, is a challenge. Many face daily, silently and alone. That's why the goal here is to create and cultivate a community that offers a safe escape path for the lightseekers-to collaborate and share their light. Here we share stories from the escape artist within us, and ultimately explore and reprioritize the journey back home to ourselves. Some will be mine, but many shared, even yours if you so choose. Thank you for being here and contributing to the light. wearexnowhere.substack.com

I open up about the physical and emotional struggles that pushed me toward this decision—what led me to finally take the step, the anxieties I faced, and the moments that made it feel like the right choice. I also reflect on how the results have reshaped my confidence, both in how I carry myself and how I interact with the world. Beyond the physical changes, I discuss the ripple effects on my self-esteem and the ways my relationships with those closest to me evolved as a result. This conversation is about more than just surgery—it’s about reclaiming agency over your body, the weight of societal expectations, and the quiet strength it takes to prioritize your well-being. If you’ve ever felt held back by your body or judged for wanting change, I hope this episode resonates with you. Caution: The Train Has Left The Station

As a saleswoman, I am used to having an answer, a rationale prepared for everything. It’s something that has saved my ass on occasion, but it can work to my detriment too. Ever put something off because you want to wait until you feel ready? Is that really what it is? Or are you just making excuses for your fears, or lack of taking action? I used to make a lot of excuses. Sit in depression. Hold onto a victim mentality. Things happen. Some difficult to deal with, some amazing, some that will change your life forever. The beauty is you dictate what comes next. You choose how to respond to the events, and it is beyond time for this train to get a move on and create a better life! I’m going to stop trying to obsess over my all or nothing mentality and use this as the creative outlet I’m craving. What else have I got to lose right? I owe it the dreamer in me to follow through. She dreams big because she knows deep down it will be real;) I am going to be putting it all out there now, so whether you are here for the stories, a lesson, some company, or on the off chance you like listening to me babble, thank you for being here. How can you honor the dreams you have? Check in with your younger self What is something you’ve been putting off this week? Why? Can you do it this weekend? Let You Go-in a good way;)

In this episode, we dive a little more in-depth as to what’s on the horizon for Nowhere Else, as well as explain why podcasting & video diaries have been the most effective method of escaping for me over the years. Anchor: My anchor for this episode is absolutely going to be “Hey kids, it’s your mom…” videos. Whenever I feel overly stressed, irritated, overjoyed, or excited, documenting it for myself to watch later (& maybe some kiddos down the line), adds to the moment 100%. Having the chance to see myself authentically evolve over the years has made me slow down, process the moment, & appreciate the journey back home so much more. Follow @wearexnowhere on Instagram for all our Anchor’s Away Monday posts & stay tuned for a “Hey Kids” mini vlog next week;) Title Track: Title Track's Playlist Glass Line Moments: * Doing something you don’t love requires so much more energy than something you do love. Find the things that light up your life * Let go of the things that are no longer serving you; it may open you up to an abundance of possibilities * Audit your life * Decide what a life you love looks like * What is staying in your life? * What is going away? * How does this support the life you love? *So, beyond sorry for the wind in this episode—learning experience—next time I’ll take it inside;)* Thank you for being here, listening, & contributing to the light. Hey Kids...

Allow me to properly introduce myself. Many of you may know me as Natalie Jean, Donna, DJ—any will do, but here, well, I like to think of myself as the conductor of this brand I’ve been building for quite a while. Okay, time to get this train moving. My entire life—for as long as I can remember, I’ve felt like I didn’t belong where I was. There was somewhere else I wanted to be or felt like I needed to be, but had no idea where I wanted to go. As time passed, the desire to get out grew bigger, louder. I’ve come to learn over time that there is nowhere else I need to go. That destination of peace I’ve been searching for can be found inside me. Through the haze—she’s in there. Ready and waiting for her moment to step into the sun. It took a long time, a lot of deep soul-scratching work, and the journey isn’t over, but I can confidently say that we are finally on the right path. Each episode will have an anchor and a title track for the community playlists. Cheesy cop out to start, but this episode’s anchor is music. Music saves lives, heals souls, and carries me through many stages of life. The sound matters. Building playlists this past summer saved me on many occasions. One I titled “Everyday” and would play it all the way through, no skips. Small habit, but worth it in the long run. Each episode will also have a Title Track because, true to our roots, we are building a community for others. This episode is as follows: I’m reclaiming my life, and know this is right where I need to be. Thank you for being here, firefly, and reading my story. I hope you’ll stay awhile. We’ll talk soon.
