Ep 207 - Why Free Isn't Free: The Truth About Live Launching

Send us Fan Mail Someone left "not free!!!!!" on one of my ads this week for a free workshop, ad my first response? It was genuine sadness and this episode is about exactly why. Because that comment tells a bigger story. About an industry that has burned its own audience with lazy free offers. About the visibility wound that has female founders bracing before they even hit publish. And about what it actually costs a founder to run a free live launch, the ad spend, the team hours, the hundreds of thousands in training sitting behind a 90-minute session she's not charging for. This episode goes into the conversation the online business space is afraid to have: selling after a free offer is not a betrayal. It is the whole architecture. And withholding your offer is not generosity, it is a disservice to the person who needed it and never knew it existed. Plus the reframe from my mentor Tracy that shifted everything: what a blessing it is that I get to teach this. If you are in a launch right now, or about to be, this one is for you. In this episode: Why lazy free webinars have destroyed audience trust and what a real free offer actually deliversThe visibility wound underneath why female founders shrink before they're even visibleThe real economics of a live launch ($7–$14 per lead, team costs, years of training)Why selling is not manipulation and withholding your offer is not generosityThe mentor reframe that changed how Jess holds the energy of every launch Links mentioned: Free Business Frequency Mapping Session (11–13 May): jessicaread.com/activation Explore working together: jessicaread.com/offerings Related episodes: Ep 204: Tall Poppy Syndrome and Your Nervous System Ready to go deeper? → The Scaling Ceiling Diagnostic (Free) Find out exactly what's bottlenecking your next big aligned move in just 5 minutes. → Access the Vault here  My complete business rebirth vault - 10 programs, frameworks, and backend tools for rebuilding your business from identity to income.  → Explore working together Connect with me on Instagram @jessica.read.co

EP 206 - Your Body Isn't Broken, It's Loyal: Why You Keep Freezing on Executing the Strategy You Know Works

Send us Fan Mail You’ve done the nervous system work. You’re regulated. And you still can’t execute. Here’s what’s actually going on. If you’ve ever come off a coaching call completely lit up, plan locked in, list ready, messaging refined and then sat down to do the thing and felt your body just stop, this episode is going to reframe everything you’ve been told about why that keeps happening. Jessica shares what unfolded for her last week in the middle of a launch: beautifully regulated, lying on the beach, deepest breaths she’d had in weeks and still completely unable to move. Not dysregulated. Not confused. Just stopped. In this episode: •Why the industry model of “fix your nervous system first, then build your business” is structurally broken and yes, that includes the somatic coaching version •The difference between nervous system regulation and identity expansion, and why confusing the two keeps the freeze returning no matter how much inner work you do •What your body is actually protecting when it shuts down at the threshold of your next level and it’s not your safety •Why affirmations and mindset work alone won’t touch this, and what your nervous system is actually listening to •The shift that changes everything: not “I healed enough to be ready” but “I took the move and my body learned it was safe” Regulation gets you calm. Identity expansion gets you moving. They are not the same thing. → Frequency First Business — new cohort mid-May → Scaling Capacity Diagnostic (free) → The Vault → All episodes If this resonated, listen to EP 205 - The Identity Tax: Making Next-Level Decisions Before the Evidence Arrives TRANSCRIPT EXCERPT From 16:03  The core teaching moment: "You cannot regulate your nervous system into readiness for a reality that doesn't exist yet. Your nervous system is not a broken machine that needs repairing before it can run your business. It is a extraordinarily sophisticated, real time threat detection system. It is calibrating constantly, continuously to your actual lived reality. It is not calibrating to your vision board. It's not calibrating to your intentions. It's not calibrating to the revenue goal that you wrote in your journal. It is calibrating to who you are right now, the identity that you are living right now, the beliefs that you are embodying right now." From 18:19  The key distinction: "Regulation is not the same thing as identity expansion. Nervous system regulation is not the same thing as identity expansion. Regulation gets you calm, tells your sympathetic nervous system, hey, we are good. There's no threat. We're fine. Identity expansion gets you moving." EP 205 - The Identity Tax: Making Next-Level Decisions Before the Evidence Arrives

Send us Fan Mail If you have ever made a significant business decision, a hire, an investment, a structural shift, and then spent weeks wondering if you moved too fast, you are not dealing with a strategy problem. You are dealing with an identity gap, and your nervous system is registering it as a genuine threat. This is what an identity shift in business actually feels like from inside it, not from the resolved, polished place, but from the messy middle. In this episode, Jessica shares what she has been living through for the last four months: building an entirely new infrastructure, COO, in-house team, launch manager, replicable systems before the revenue arrived to justify it. And why the discomfort of that gap is not a red flag. It is a frequency signal. Jessica names what she has actually done this year in terms of growth and expansion: hiring a COO, transitioning her OBM into a client-facing role offering build-with-you and build-for-you services, building an in-house team including podcast producer, designer, VA and ads capacity, investing in a launch manager, expanding AI integration, and building replicable systems across the whole business all before the corresponding revenue landed to confirm it. She introduces the concept of the identity tax: the discomfort you pay before the results arrive. She names the specific nervous system mechanics of what happens when your survival identity, the part wired to link safety with certainty, is asked to operate from a frequency it has not lived yet. She draws on her Clear, Align, Leverage framework to show why identity upgrade must precede infrastructure investment, not the other way around. She shares the lived texture of the last four months: the 3am questioning, the moments of looking at investment going out while income had not yet matched it, and what she returned to again and again. She also shares the personal story of how her experience with agoraphobia and panic disorder taught her that the only way through discomfort is through it and why the same principle applies in business. She closes with the question: is it uncomfortable because it's wrong, or is it uncomfortable because it's next? And an honest, warm invitation to women who are in that gap right now and want support that holds identity expansion and strategic execution simultaneously. The Identity Tax: What It Is, Why It's Inevitable, and Why It Means You're on Track There is a specific kind of discomfort that comes with making next-level decisions before the evidence arrives to back them up. It is not garden-variety nerves. It is not imposter syndrome in the conventional sense. It is something more specific, and once you understand what is actually happening in your nervous system when you make that kind of decision, the experience changes completely. Jessica calls it the identity tax. The gap between the decision you have made and the revenue, the results, or the external confirmation that has not arrived yet. It is the wobbling you stand in while the strategy plays out. The 3am questioning. The moments where the investment is going out and the income is not yet going up, and your whole body is pulling the alarm. Here is why that alarm is pulling: your sur Ready to go deeper? → The Scaling Ceiling Diagnostic (Free) Find out exactly what's bottlenecking your next big aligned move in just 5 minutes. → Access the Vault here  My complete business rebirth vault - 10 programs, frameworks, and backend tools for rebuilding your business from identity to income.  → Explore working together Connect with me on Instagram @jessica.read.co

EP 204 - "She Thinks She's Better Than Everyone Else": Tall Poppy Syndrome, Your Nervous System, and the Real Reason You Keep Making Yourself Small

Send us Fan Mail Someone said 7 words to Jessica  - 7 words that sent a multi-six-figure business mentor into months of self-censorship, shrinking her energy, softening her content, and quietly revisiting every moment she had shown up with confidence and clarity in her work.  You think you're better than everyone else. And that response - the sickness in the stomach, not the fire - is exactly what tall poppy syndrome looks like when it has been encoded in your nervous system since childhood.  In this episode, Jessica goes all the way in. Not the surface-level cultural commentary version. Not the just-be-confident version. The real version: body-level, nervous system encoded, showing up directly in your revenue. If you have ever minimised a win before someone else could, rewritten a post until it said 40% of what you actually meant, known your prices needed to go up and felt your body say no anyway, or wondered whether your confidence reads as arrogance to the people around you - this is the episode you have been waiting for. In This Episode What tall poppy syndrome actually is and why Australian and New Zealand women carry it in their cultural DNA in a way that directly impacts how they run their businessesWhy the cultural conditioning was installed before you ever sent your first invoice - and how it is showing up as undercharging, over-delivering, shrinking your positioning, and apologising for your own visibilityThe UCLA neuroscience study that proved social rejection activates the same brain regions as physical pain - and the 2015 follow-up that found social pain, unlike physical pain, can be relived at full neurological intensity years laterThe Harvard and Wharton research on the self-promotion gap: why women rate identical performance at 46 out of 100 while men rate it at 61 - and why knowing about the gap does not close itStephen Porges' polyvagal theory applied directly to business: which nervous system state is running your content, your pricing, and your launchesThe fawn response - the fourth survival strategy that women are socially rewarded for, and how it is running your business in ways you have probably been calling humilityWhat nervous system recalibration actually looks like: somatic work, titration, co-regulation, and identity work - not affirmations, not pushing through, not one breakthrough session  The Key Concept: Tall Poppy Syndrome Is a Nervous System Problem, Not a Mindset Problem Most conversations about tall poppy syndrome keep it at the cultural level - it's something that happens at barbecues, in comment sections, at family dinners. And yes, it does. Jessica talks about watching it play out publicly just recently, when the comments section under a successful female founder's post became a textbook example of cutting in real time. But the version that is costing ambitious women the most is not the external cutting. It is the internalised version. The one your own nervous system runs without any outside trigger. You were not born afraid to charge. You were not born with a reflex to minimise your wins before someo Ready to go deeper? → The Scaling Ceiling Diagnostic (Free) Find out exactly what's bottlenecking your next big aligned move in just 5 minutes. → Access the Vault here  My complete business rebirth vault - 10 programs, frameworks, and backend tools for rebuilding your business from identity to income.  → Explore working together Connect with me on Instagram @jessica.read.co

EP 203 - Can Your Business Hold Your Next Level? The Layer-by-Layer Audit for Spacious, Sustainable Growth

Send us Fan Mail You're doing all the right things. You're showing up, creating content, refining your offers, maybe even investing in support. And still, something keeps stopping you just short of the level you're reaching for. In this solo episode, Jessica breaks down why throwing a new strategy at the problem almost never works and what to do instead. She walks you through her five-layer Frequency First Diagnostic, the same audit she runs with every client before touching a single thing in their business. What makes this different from every other business audit you've seen? Jessica runs two tracks simultaneously at every single layer, the strategic question of what needs attention, and the frequency question of who you need to be to build it and hold it before the evidence arrives. Because those two things can't be separated, no matter how hard we try. Inside this episode: Why changing your strategy blindly keeps you hitting the same ceilingLayer 1: Your front end. Whether the right people are actually finding you, and whether your content frequency is clean or coming from scarcityLayer 2: Offer positioning. Not whether your offer is good, but whether your ideal client immediately knows it's for herLayer 3: Your sales process. The surprisingly common gap that even experienced business owners missLayer 4: Daily execution. The three things you need every single day (and why posting alone is not a business strategy)Layer 5: Business systems. Why most entrepreneurs build these too late, or for the wrong version of their businessThe "void" that shows up at every layer, and the identity work required to stay in it before the numbers confirm what you already know is comingThis is the episode for the woman who is ready to stop guessing which part of her business needs fixing and start building from the layer that actually matters most right now. Sacred Moments & Searchable Topics: [00:00:00] The glass ceiling that strategy alone can't break [00:07:00] Layer 1: Audience clarity and front-end messaging frequency [00:12:00] Layer 2: Offer positioning and the conviction behind your words [00:17:00] Layer 3: Your sales process and how your client actually buys [00:22:00] Layer 4: Daily execution (nurture, sales and visibility every day) [00:27:00] Layer 5: Systems, capacity and building before you're ready Ready to go deeper? → The Scaling Ceiling Diagnostic (Free) Find out exactly what's bottlenecking your next big aligned move in just 5 minutes. → Access the Vault here  My complete business rebirth vault - 10 programs, frameworks, and backend tools for rebuilding your business from identity to income.  → Explore working together Connect with me on Instagram @jessica.read.co

(Pop Up Podcast) The F*ck Yes Method: How to Build an Unfuckwithable Self-Concept That Magnetizes Clients

Send us Fan Mail There's a pattern that runs through every successful entrepreneur's story but it's rarely the one they teach. It's not about finding the right strategy or perfecting your content calendar. It's about becoming someone who can hold visibility, income, and impact without collapsing under the weight of it. In this episode, Jessica pulls back the curtain on the exact method she's used to guide women from brand new in business to $400,000 profit launches. This isn't theoretical work, it's the living, breathing pathway that every truly successful entrepreneur walks to reach that elusive next level. If you've ever felt like you need to filter yourself to feel safe, rewrite your captions seventeen times, or hold back your boldest truth because it might be "too much"... this episode reveals why that pattern exists and exactly how to shift it. Jessica breaks down the five-phase F*ck Yes Method, a trauma-informed, nervous system-led approach to building a self-concept that's unfuckwithable. This is identity work meets business strategy, where your visibility, pricing, and presence all transform because the woman underneath no longer doubts who she is. Inside this episode: Why visibility doesn't start with your Instagram strategy, it starts with your self-conceptThe real reason you freeze, procrastinate, and self-sabotage (it's not a discipline problem)Phase One: Creating safety through somatics and meeting your survival identityHow to distinguish between fear and intuition in your bodyPhase Two: Activating your real voice without filtering or performingPhase Three: Claiming authority and moving from "who am I?" to "who am I not to?"Phase Four: Emotionally detaching from money and believing you deserve to be paidPhase Five: Embodying new standards so full expression becomes your baselineWhy you're not a unicorn (and why that's actually good news)The difference between mindset work and nervous system rewiringHow to pick yourself back up during challenges and lead as your fully expressed selfThis is the episode to bookmark and return to whenever you catch yourself shrinking, over-explaining, or dimming your potency to stay safe. Because the woman on the other side of this work doesn't rewrite her captions seventeen times or spiral when the algorithm shifts, she regulates through the wobble, trusts her voice, and holds her presence unapologetically. EP 202 - Why They Loved Your Content and Hired Someone Else: The Visibility Gap Most Service Providers Miss

Send us Fan Mail There is a particular sting that nobody in the online business world talks about honestly. Watching someone who has been orbiting your world for months, someone who comments, saves, shares, and slides into your DMs raving about your work, go and hire someone else. Maybe someone with half your depth or double your price. And the spiral that follows? That is what this episode is really about. In this episode, Jessica cuts straight to what is actually underneath that experience, not to make you feel better about it, but to help you see it with brutal, loving clarity. Because the answer is not doing more. It is not posting more, pricing differently, or tweaking your strategy. The answer lives in the difference between being visible and being fully connectable. Inside this episode: The difference between inspiring someone and actually connecting with them and why inspiration alone will never convertWhat it means to be 'authentic' versus being fully expressed, and the subtle way we keep people at arm's length even when we think we are being realHow the energy of 'admire me from over there' lives in our content without us realising it and what to do about itWhy your personality attracts but your full expression convertsHow to stop making it mean something when this happens, and what questions to ask yourself insteadThe energetic frequency of leadership and what it actually feels like to hold space for someone through your content before they ever reach outWhy sometimes people are meant to be activated by your work and move on and how to be genuinely okay with that from a place of service, not resignationThis episode is for the soul-led coach, healer, or entrepreneur who is showing up consistently, creating content that people love, and still feeling like something is not landing the way it should. If you have been performing in your visibility rather than truly connecting, this is your edge.
