Did we invent podcasts? No. Did we make them better? Yes. Once upon a time, Stak didn’t exist. But the idea behind it did. We were a bunch of mates sat around a kitchen table recording a podcast about football - before podcasts were a big thing. We were fed up with the same old voices talking about the same old topics in the same old way. We were fans - but nobody was talking to us in the way we talked to each other. That podcast about football got quite big. It was the first of many. It was the start of a podcasting journey that we hadn’t even planned to embark on. We got more people involved. People who brought us new ideas and new interests. A super-talented team who were just as obsessed about the craft of making great content. We started making podcasts about everything from science to wrestling to Irish history. And we started making them properly. And from one show, we became a show business. Today, hundreds of thousands of people hear our voices every week. It works because the people are genuine and the voices are real. We don’t care who you are, where you come from or what your background is. If you have an interest in something – anything – you’re welcome. While we may not take ourselves that seriously, we take what we do very seriously. We care because our listeners care. We’re Stak. Seriously entertaining.
