  • Do You Ever Feel Like a Total Loser?

Do You Ever Feel Like a Total Loser?

Today we’re talking about the thing underneath everything: our feelings—and how hard we work to avoid them. Why is it easier to get mad than admit we’re scared? Why can a feeling that lasts 90 seconds keep us stuck for hours (or years)? And why does it so often feel like everyone else is doing life better than we are? We get into anger as a mask, anxiety spirals, the “loser” feeling no one wants to admit, and the relationship dynamics—hello, chooser vs. follower—that shape how we show up with the people we love. This one is about stopping the spin… and coming back to yourself. - Why anger is often covering something deeper - The “90-second feeling” and how to let it pass - How overthinking keeps you stuck in anxiety - Why comparison makes you feel like you’re failing - Relationship patterns that quietly take over Also listen to: The 90 Second Rule: Feel Your Feelings. (BEST OF) Mothers & Sons with Ocean Vuong and Chase Melton

This conversation will stay with you. When Glennon and her son Chase sit down with his hero, Ocean Vuong, something shifts: mothering reveals itself as more than a role—it’s a force that finds our kids through books, voices, and people who see them when we can’t. A raw, beautiful conversation about raising boys, surviving what shapes us, and the quiet truth every parent carries: we don’t do this alone. - How art and connection can “mother” us - What boys are taught about survival—and how that’s changing - The moment a child feels truly seen - How grief opens us to deeper human connection - Gratitude for the ones who help raise our kids About Ocean:  Ocean Vuong, author of the critically acclaimed poetry collection Night Sky with Exit Wounds, and the New York Times bestselling novel On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous is a recipient of the 2019 MacArthur "Genius Grant" and the winner of the Whiting Award and the T. S. Eliot Prize. In Time Is a Mother, Ocean's newest poetry collection available now, he reckons with his mother’s death, embodying the paradox of sitting within grief while being determined to survive beyond it. His writings have been featured in The Atlantic, Harper's Magazine, The Nation, The New Republic, The New Yorker, and The New York Times. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, he currently lives in Northampton, Massachusetts.  Follow We Can Do Hard Things on:  Instagram — https://www.instagram.com/wecandohardthings

The Real Work of Love: Healing Attachment Wounds & Choosing Growth in Relationships w/ Mark Groves

When one person pulls away and the other leans in harder, the result is often frustration, confusion, and emotional exhaustion. In this episode, Julie & Yue talk with Mark Groves—human connection specialist, author, and founder of Create the Love—about what it takes to step out of the anxious–avoidant cycle and into a more secure form of partnership. Drawing from both research and lived experience, Mark shares how taking responsibility for his own triggers and emotional responses transformed his relationship. This conversation reframes healing not as fixing your partner, but as changing the patterns you bring into connection. In this episode, you’ll learn: • Why runner–chaser dynamics feel so hard to escape • How anxious and avoidant patterns reinforce each other • What self-responsibility actually looks like in relationships • Why awareness and repair matter more than blame • How secure relationships are built through choice, not chemistry To learn more about Mark Groves, follow him @itsmarkgroves and visit https://www.createthelove.com/ Want to feel more connected to your partner? In this episode of Dear Tisia, we’re diving into one of the most frustrating parts of modern dating… confusion. 💭 One woman is stuck trying to figure out where she stands. The conversations are there, the connection feels real, but the effort doesn’t fully match. So now she’s asking the question so many people are thinking… is this actually going somewhere, or am I just wasting my time? 📱 Another situation highlights what happens when someone gives just enough to keep you interested, but never enough to give you clarity. When consistency is missing, how long do you wait before you walk away? ❤️ And we’re breaking down the emotional toll of dealing with mixed signals. Because at some point, confusion isn’t accidental… it’s a sign. 🚩 In the Red Flag Report, we unpack a trending conversation around dating expectations and accountability, and ask the bigger question: Are people really confused… or are they just avoiding being clear? 👇 Let’s talk about it.

The Hidden Cost of Avoidant Attachment: Why Pushing People Away Doesn’t Protect You w/ Kylie McBeath

Ever notice how wanting closeness can suddenly make you feel trapped or how independence can quietly turn into emotional distance? To continue the conversation from last week, Julie & Yue chat with Mark's now-wife Kylie McBeath, relationship educator, co-author of Liberated Love, and someone who didn’t just study avoidant patterns, but lived them. Kylie opens up about why she ended a relationship she deeply cared about and chose a “no man diet” to confront what was really driving her push–pull dynamic. This episode explores the psychology of avoidance, how self-protection can disguise itself as strength, and why stepping back from dating can sometimes be the most powerful move toward secure love. In this episode, you’ll learn: • How avoidant patterns form and why they’re often misunderstood • Why independence can mask emotional self-protection • What intentional pauses reveal about attachment and safety • How internal security is built without relying on a partner • Why slowing down can lead to more grounded, lasting connection To learn more about Kylie McBeath, follow her @beingisbeautiful and visit https://www.kyliemcbeath.com/ Want to feel more connected to your partner? Why You Keep Choosing the Wrong Partners (And How To Reset Your Romantic GPS) w/ Marc Sholes

Ever feel like you keep ending up with the same “type” of partner even when it hasn’t worked out before? You might be unconsciously choosing the wrong people and repeating patterns that keep you stuck. Julie & Yue are joined by Marc Sholes, Psychotherapist and author of Reset Your Romantic GPS, to explore why we’re drawn to familiar but unfulfilling partner types. He explains the ways attachment styles influence our choices, why awareness can help you break the cycle, and how to distinguish a rough patch from true incompatibility—so you can make healthier, more fulfilling relationship choices. In this episode, you’ll learn:  • Why you keep choosing the same “type” of partner  • How attachment styles shape your patterns  • Signs a relationship is worth working through versus letting go  • Practical strategies to identify triggers and subconscious tendencies  • How to make choices that lead to healthier, more aligned relationships To learn more about Marc Sholes, follow him @marcsholes and visit https://marcsholeslcsw.com/ Want to feel more connected to your partner?
