Amateur Production with a Possible Agenda

Amateur production. It almost looks like public access TV. I don’t see why Amy Goodman reads the headlines at the beginning of the show. She periodically has to swallow loudly, which gets annoying. I have never heard that from a pro. I would hope that she can can get a pro to read the headlines, which makes up roughly the first 10 minutes of the show. But perhaps, she feels it’s her show.

On the good side, they do cover stories that are ignored or or given too little coverage in the mainstream news. They also sometimes get analysis from people you rarely see in the mainstream media. That’s the only reason why I continue to watch it.

However, I do skip some of the stories. Some stories are just about some unfortunate people merely expressing their feelings about they are being screwed over by powerful people. I feel bad for them. Yet, I feel that they sometimes spend far too much time on it instead of providing the much needed analysis..

Also, I have noticed that in a few stories (at least, a few that I have noticed) their report left off important facts that suggests that they are more interested in suggesting one side or person as being wrong. I have gone to other news sources and found easily obtainable facts that would otherwise provide a more balanced news story. It appears that they are more interested in promoting their agenda that providing the news.
