    What Is the Real Meaning of Consecration?

    When the Lord’s love inspires and compels you, it is normal to have a strong desire to give your life to God in response. Your prayer may be, “Lord, I consecrate my life to You.” However, you try to do it with your own energy and determination. Within a short time, the fire for the Lord dies down. The word “consecration,” in the original Hebrew text means, “to fill” or “to be filled of”. God does not want you to immediately do so many things for Him. Rather, He wants you first to be filled with Christ and then train you. As it is written, “what manner of person you ought to be in holy conduct and godliness”, to do His will.
