360: Can Self-Care Hurt Your Business?

Many business owners carry a real fear: If I stop pushing, will everything fall apart?   And sometimes, that fear has a practical truth inside it. If you suddenly cut your working hours in half without changing your systems, support, offers, or expectations, your business may feel the impact. Self-investment is not a magic wand you wave over an overextended business and expect everything to hold.   But that is not the whole story.   In this episode, Erin explores the more nuanced question: when does self-care truly support your business, and when does it become a sophisticated way of hiding from the Lanterns you are here to light?   You will learn how to tell the difference between self-investment that fuels your Vision and self-care that quietly keeps you stuck.   You'll hear: Why self-care can hurt your business when it replaces the real work of building systems, support, and capacity How personal development can become a subtle hiding place when you tell yourself you need to be more healed, more ready, or more evolved before you take action The difference between nourishing your inner flame and avoiding the next brave business decision Why the goal is not more self-care for its own sake, but a life and business where your energy, creativity, presence, and Vision are actually available If you want support creating a business that gives you more space without losing momentum, you can learn more about working with Erin at besuperabound.com/consultation.

359: The Power of an Emotional Sabbatical

In this episode of the Superabound Podcast, Erin shares what has unfolded in a year-long commitment she made to herself. During this self-guided emotional sabbatical: she has not stepped back from her business, but she has released the pressure to constantly generate. If your work depends on your presence, creativity, and ability to hear what matters, this episode offers ideas to protect your inner flame while still serving your clients, your Vision, and the business you are building. You'll hear: Why an emotional sabbatical is not a business growth strategy, and why it may still change the way your business grows. What opened up when Erin stopped gripping so tightly to outcomes, including one surprising creative project that took shape. How business owners can experiment with shorter emotional sabbaticals, even if taking a full year off from outcome-pressure is not realistic. Why presence may be one of the most valuable things you bring to your work, and what starts to happen when Static is no longer running the show. 358: What to Do When Your Business is in Flux

When your business hits a season of fluctuation, whether it's revenue dipping, a once-stable offer suddenly stalling, or team dynamics changing, it can feel like the ground disappears under you. This episode explores how to stay steady when the numbers, the people, or the market start acting strange. We talk about why "business is a spiritual practice" doesn't mean it always feels good, and how to lead through uncertainty without sugarcoating, lying, or showing a confidence you don't actually feel. You'll hear practical ways to orient yourself back to what matters, and why the smartest move in a time of flux is often getting a thinking partner instead of trying to solve everything alone in your own head. In this episode, we cover: The difference between "think positive" advice and reality-based leadership that still creates momentum. How to galvanize your team around a path forward without pretending everything is fine. The "reality distortion effect" (in the best sense): holding a compelling vision even when the present moment is messy. Why your default problem-solving style can trap you, and how a thinking partner helps you see options you literally can't see alone. 357: Protecting Your Visionary Projects

If you have a legacy-making project calling you, and your calendar keeps pretending not to hear, this episode is for you. Visionary work does not get protected by accident. It gets protected by design. In Episode 357, Erin shares what is really going on when you "just cannot find the time" for the book, the program, the creative project, or the big pivot. Then she walks you through the practices that make visionary progress possible inside a full life. In this episode, you will learn Why visionary projects require a different kind of protection than day-to-day business tasks How self-investment becomes the fuel source for long-term, legacy-level work What an empowered "no" actually looks like when the request feels reasonable, but it steals your future How to calendar your visionary practice in a way that survives real life Why your business systems are part of protecting your creative work, not distractions from it The fact is, you do not need a 25-hour day. You need a Vision-led week. This episode will help you stop treating your visionary work like an optional hobby, and start treating it like a Lantern that deserves space, boundaries, and devotion. 356: Knowing When to Pivot

If you're a business owner and you've been wondering, "Is it time to pivot… or do I just need to try harder?" this episode is for you. In Episode 356 of the Superabound podcast, I am diving into tricky territory as we discuss something nearly every business owner has to face at least once. If you have noticed your work days feel less alive and harder to sustain, it might not be that you need a better mindset. It might be that the business you built a few years ago is no longer aligned with your Vision or what your customers need. We'll talk about why seasoned, successful entrepreneurs often hold on too long (even when they can see the warning signs), and why pivoting doesn't have to be a dramatic reinvention but can start with a small, low risk experiment. You'll also hear about the intuitive nudge I look for in myself and my clients that it might be time to explore a pivot, and why it isn't always a number in a spreadsheet. If you have started to feel dread, resentment, or depletion in your business, this episode is worth listening to. Here's what you'll walk away with: A clear way to tell the difference between a temporary dip and a real "it's time to shift" conversation Why established business owners often pivot later than they should, and what it costs when they do. The "energy bottleneck" problem, and how to build a business that can breathe without you pushing every inch of it forward. A grounded way to think about experimenting, especially when you do not have endless time, money, or patience. A powerful question to ask when something flops, so you can extract the "$10,000 Learning" instead of spiraling. If you're in that in-between space where you can feel the world has changed, your market has changed, or you have changed, I hope this episode feels like the Thinking Partnership you need. And at the very beginning, I'm sharing a limited-time, no-cost resource for the Superabound community: "5 Days to Superabound Success," a short program with five of our most-used tools (including practices for protecting your time, your personal energy, and your Vision).
