    Dr Negin Hesahm-Shariati on the connection between psychological and social wellbeing and pain after spinal cord injury

    Dr. Negin Hesam-Shariati, is a research fellow at the School of Psychology at UNSW Sydney and Centre for Pain IMPACT at Neuroscience Research Australia. Her research found that the way people relate to their pain shifts over time, with acceptance playing a stronger role and catastrophic thinking playing a weaker role the longer someone has lived with their injury.

    Emilia McSherry on art, and their upcoming endurance piece

    Queer and disabled artist and performer, Emilia McSherry’s upcoming show explores her personal experiences with mental health challenges, domestic abuse and sexual violence. “Every part of myself is on display in this exhibition,” the Naarm-based artist said. Emilia's exhibition, entitled 'I Want to Die but Not at the Hands of a Man', combines mixed media, cyanotype prints and a durational performance piece.
