    Ed Sheeran will sign a record deal with Interscope Records after leaving Warner Music Group. Sheeran, who signed with WMG in 2011, cited a desire for a professional shift as the reason for his departure. WMG will retain Sheeran’s catalog and long-term licenses for his two most recent albums. Ben Folds Five is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album with a reissue featuring a remastered version and an unreleased album titled “Shelved First Attempt.” The reissue, available on September 4th, includes earlier versions of tracks like “Underground” and “Julianne,” as well as previously unreleased songs. The band will also reunite next year for their first live performances together in over 13 years.\ Corey Taylor explained Slipknot’s use of beer kegs in their music during a Mythical Kitchen appearance. He stated that the kegs were initially used to accentuate drum parts and eventually became a signature element of their sound. Taylor also acknowledged the comedic aspect of their lineup and the unconventional use of kegs and bats. Liz Meriwether, creator of “New Girl,” will write the screenplay for Universal’s Britney Spears biopic. The film, based on Spears’ memoir “The Woman in Me,” will be directed by Jon M. Chu and produced by Marc Platt. The memoir, released in October 2023, became a bestseller and the audiobook, narrated by Michelle Williams, was the fastest-selling in Simon & Schuster’s history. Jermaine Dupri is suing Sony Music Entertainment for $18 million, alleging the company failed to pay royalties for releases from Mariah Carey, Usher, Xscape, Kris Kross, and others. The lawsuit claims a pattern of underreporting royalties and retroactively updating statements, with Dupri owed over $10 million in interest payments. The suit seeks damages, interest, and attorney fees The Ramones’ 50th anniversary celebration will be held at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on August 30th. The event, hosted by John Travolta, will feature a live debut of a new punk supergroup, featuring members of Green Day, Rancid and blink-182, and a full set of Ramones classics. Proceeds will benefit cancer research. Intocable, a Latin music group, will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July 16th. The group, known for their influence on regional Mexican music, has achieved significant success with numerous chart-topping albums and awards. The ceremony will be emceed by Jessica Maldonado and feature special guests Edgar Barrera and Nir Serrousi Peppa Pig seemingly shaded Clairo in a Pitchfork interview, prompting Charli XCX and PinkPantheress to defend the singer. The hilarious “drama” started Tuesday, when the cartoon character participated in the music publication’s “Over/Under” video series. The beef, or should I say, pork, stems from a 2019 interview where Clairo jokingly commented on Peppa’s height, which Peppa may have interpreted as a jab.
