Today, I would like to tell you a story from Aesop's Fables. The name of the story is The Hare and the Tortoise.

STORY

Once upon a time there was a hare.

He was always showing off.

“I am the fastest runner in the world,” said the hare. “No one can beat me.”

“I bet I can,” said the tortoise.

“Let’s have a race.”

“You are much too slow,” said the hare.

“I will easily win the race.”

“Here I go,”

said the hare.

“Here I go,”

said the tortoise.

The hare ran up the hill.

The tortoise ran up the hill.

The hare ran on and on.

“I can’t see the tortoise,”

said the hare.

“I will go to sleep.”

The tortoise went on and on.

“I can see the hare,” said the tortoise.

The tortoise went on and on and on.

“Help! I can see the tortoise,” said the hare.

The hare ran and ran and ran.

“No! No! No!” said the hare.

“Yes! Yes! Yes!” said the tortoise.

很久很久以前，有一只兔子，他总是喜欢向别人炫耀自己。

“在这个世界上，我是跑得最快的。”兔子说，“没有人能够跑得过我。”

“我打赌，我可以跑过你。”乌龟说，“让我们来一场赛跑吧。”

“你跑得实在太慢了。”兔子说，“我会轻松地赢得这场比赛。”

兔子说：“我开始跑了。”

乌龟说：“我开始跑了。”

兔子跑上了小山。

乌龟跑上了小山。

兔子不停地跑啊跑啊。

“我看不见乌龟了。”兔子说，“我要先睡一觉。”

乌龟不停地向前跑呀跑呀。

乌龟说：“我看见兔子了。”

乌龟不停地向前跑呀跑呀。

兔子喊道：“不好！我看见乌龟了。”

兔子使劲地追呀追呀。

兔子说：“不要！不要！不要！”

乌龟说：“赢了！赢了！赢了！”
