Conversations With Q

Conversations With Q is a solo podcast about real life, real emotions, real culture, and the conversations we don’t always know how to have out loud. Hosted by Q, the show blends humor, honesty, and thoughtful perspective to explore relationships, identity, mental health, Black life, modern culture, and the everyday experiences that shape how we love, think, cope, and connect. This isn’t a podcast about having all the answers. It’s about asking better questions, noticing what people carry, and making space for real conversation that feels human, relatable, and worth coming back to.

After the East End Day Shooting: What Does Lexington Need to Change?

On August 15, 2026, a shooting at Lexington’s East End Day celebration left a young man dead, several others injured and families across the community searching for answers. In this special episode of Conversations With Q, Q is joined by Ike, Derek & Quidi for a respectful, honest and sometimes uncomfortable conversation about what happens before community violence—and what must happen after the news cameras leave. This is not an attempt to exploit a tragedy, speculate about an active criminal case or reduce the people affected to names and numbers. It is a conversation about what we mean when we repeatedly say: “We have to do better.” The roundtable discusses: How social media turns conflict into public entertainmentCompetition, status, respect and fear within the Black communityThe difference between being friendly with your child and being their parentThere may not be one policy, one program or one person capable of preventing every tragedy. Real change requires families, fathers, mothers, mentors, schools, churches, community leaders, law enforcement, elected officials and young people working together. The most important question is not simply whether Lexington needs to do better. It is: What are each of us personally willing to do differently? This episode is dedicated to everyone affected by the East End Day shooting, including the family and loved who were injured and the East End community. Content advisory: This episode contains a serious discussion of gun violence, death, injured children, grief and community trauma.

I Just Want One Week Where Nothing Random Happens: Adulthood, Stress & Everyday Burnout

Some of us are tired of plot twists. Not the fun kind. Not the “surprise, somebody blessed you” kind. The random life kind. The tire light comes on.The bill is higher than expected. The school calls.Something breaks.Somebody needs something.Your phone rings and you already know peace is about to leave the room. In this Season 6 episode of Conversations With Q, Q gets into one of the most relatable parts of adulthood: the exhaustion that comes from constantly adjusting, constantly pivoting, and constantly dealing with random problems that were not on the schedule. Because sometimes it is not one big crisis that wears you down. Sometimes it is the little things. The unexpected expense. The message you forgot to answer. The appointment that gets moved. The groceries that cost too much. The child needing something for school at the last minute. The “quick question” that turns into a whole situation. This episode is for anybody who has ever looked at life and thought, “Can I please just get one regular week?” Q talks about everyday stress, mental overload, emotional exhaustion, adult responsibilities, random inconveniences, and the kind of burnout that happens when life keeps tapping you on the shoulder before you even finish dealing with the first thing. Because wanting peace does not mean you are avoiding responsibility.Wanting a calm week does not mean you are lazy.Wanting nothing random to happen does not mean you cannot handle life. It means you are human. Sometimes the prayer is not even, “Give me everything I want.” Sometimes the prayer is simply: Let the car start.Let the bills be what I expected.Let nobody call me with drama.Let the groceries last.Let the plans stay plans.Let me breathe. Because sometimes peace is not fancy. Sometimes peace is just nothing new going wrong. No fake deep energy. No pretending to have all the answers. Just real conversation.
