Shaping Seattle is a podcast covering Seattle Shapers and local impact leaders in the greater Seattle area. We focus on highlighting the work of change makers such as climate activists, racial equity leaders and affordable housing advocates in Seattle. The podcasts interviews these leaders offering an insight to both the work that they do and the communities they reach. Each episode is typically hosted by a subject matter expert interviewing a guest. This project is brought to you by the Seattle Hub of the Global Shapers.

    Youth Voices on Climate Justice with Girl Scout Troop 46993 and Hiral Choudhary

    Energy, Climate Change and Startup Leadership with Max Mankin

    Max Mankin is the co-founder and CTO of Modern Electron, an energy technology startup in Seattle working to decarbonize home energy use. He has a decade of experience building and leading teams, designing and characterizing semiconductors and energy systems. Max earned a BS with honors in chemistry from Brown University and a PhD in physical chemistry from Harvard University, where he held fellowships from the Hertz and National Science Foundations. Max is an inventor on a few dozen patents pending and granted. His accolades include one of Inc. Magazine’s most brilliant entrepreneurs under 30 (2017) and Forbes 30 Under 30 (2016).     Chronic Homelessness in Seattle and the Third Door Coalition with Jeremy Schifberg

    Jeremy Schifberg works on improving healthcare delivery – which means he works on homelessness, food insecurity, and many other issues found outside of a clinic or hospital. He found himself working on homelessness – one of Seattle’s most divisive and challenging issues – because of its unavoidable connection to good health, and now he and fellow Shaper Shireen work in support of the Third Door Coalition, one of Seattle’s most promising new initiatives dedicated to addressing chronic homelessness.
