Fernando Gomez

One guy trying to make sense of modern adult life. I’m Fernando, a Costa Rican living in Singapore, and every week I talk about whatever has been occupying my brain — work, money, fitness, relationships, technology, travel, getting older, gaming, buying stupid things, and occasionally LEGO. Sometimes there’s a lesson. Sometimes there isn’t. Sometimes I probably just overthought the whole thing. This is one regular guy trying to figure out why the hell we do the things we do. New episodes every week.

Destiny 2 Is BACK! Bungie Is Bringing Back Vaulted Content

Bungie says it’s not done with Destiny — and work is starting to bring back vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations and raids. As someone with more than 2,000 hours in Destiny 2 — and somehow I still don’t consider myself a hardcore player — I definitely have some thoughts.I talk about the content I’d love to see return, Forsaken, Red War, Witch Queen, the Destiny grind, Bungie rebuilding player trust, and what I’d like to see from the future of Destiny. But first, two very important questions:How can someone say they don’t like cheese? What happens with PIZZA?!And why are people holding clip-on wireless microphones in their hands like they’re Freddie Mercury? IT HAS A CLIP.Yes. This is The Random Guy Podcast. What’s the ONE piece of vaulted Destiny content you want back first?#Destiny2 #Bungie #Destiny

    Why Adults Hate Being Beginners

Kids are allowed to suck at things. Adults? Somehow we decide that looking incompetent is embarrassing. In this episode I talk about why getting older can make us afraid to become beginners again — from CrossFit and learning Mandarin to snowboarding, career changes, podcasting, and even a childhood dream of learning to fly. Maybe getting older isn't about knowing everything. Maybe it's about being less embarrassed by what you haven't learned yet. And sometimes it's perfectly fine to say: I suck at this. #TheRandomGuyPodcast #Beginners #PersonalGrowth

Why Do We Own So Much Stuff?

Why do we own so much stuff we barely use? Shirts, shoes, plates, coffee mugs (in a house where nobody drinks coffee), and yes… apparently water bottles annoy me too. 😂 This episode starts with Formula 1, takes a detour into women’s sports, and eventually lands where I meant to go: why we keep buying and keeping things — and whether we’re sometimes trying to fill something that isn’t physical. Maybe the goal isn’t to fill every space with more stuff. Maybe it’s experiences, relationships and knowledge. The Random Guy Podcast — new episode every week. #podcast #minimalism #life

    Imagine Dragons!

What if the best conversation you have this week is about dragons, unicorns, and the one thing adults forget to do - use their imagination?Interesting why we stop making space for wonder....and how the stories we tell shape the way we see the world.Imagine your dragon! or unicorn!

    Spend Money...

A random morning run in Singapore somehow turns into barefoot runners, Formula 1, and the things - 5 things - I actually think are worth spending money on… and why I think the right gym or martial arts membership is money very well spent. Basically, spend money — just make sure it actually makes your life better.

    I watched Spain Vs Argentina.

FIFA's World Cup...It turned out to be quite a spectacle from many points of view. Anyway, the World Cup is over, and somehow more people seem to dislike Argentinian players than before. On a lighter note, I finally completed the Lego DeLorean from Back to the Future! So… what else interesting happened this week?AAAH yes and is Football.... NOT soccer!
