We Like D&D is a show where we chat about D&D and TTRPGs in variety show style segments!     A Paladin Homebrew Inspired by “The Odyssey” (S2E17)

    In this episode, we share our first Show & Tell items of the month, that include a homebrew Paladin subclass inspired by Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”, a “The Bear”-inspired TTRPG played in real time to mimic the stress of working in a kitchen, and a solo RPG that allows you to create playlists as a radio show host – and you might even get to hear your playlist on the game creator’s real radio show! We also start to build out our cozy campaign characters (that might both be artificers?), and end the episode with a very silly round of 2 DMs 1 Player.     A Very Rat-Forward Episode (S2E16)

    In this episode, we share our final Show & Tell items of the month: an adventure that Kelly believes to be the best low-level adventure for new players, a compendium of rat monsters, and a solo journalling TTRPG where you can go on a date with a gelatinous cube. We also play a game of Fantasy Fantasy Draft, with a listener submitted prompt: prepping and running a TTRPG.     The World’s Smallest TTRPG (S2E15)

    In this episode, Kelly tries REALLY hard to get Sly Flourish on the show with his show & tell item (which might be Sly-related). We also share a one-page game that encourages you to get outside, and the world’s teeniest-tiniest TTRPG inspired by The Borrowers. Then we spend some time planning out a cozy adventure setting for our next actual play, including the location, some NPCs, and some town traditions.     What Happens If You Drink Goblin Bathwater? (S2E14)

    In this episode, we share our final Show & Tell items of the month: Unearthed Arcana rules for introducing sidekicks in 5e, a free TTRPG one shot where you play as penguins attempting a heist, and a 5e tier one adventure where you have to uncover the criminal conspiracy behind a drug called Goblin Bathwater.     D&D But It's Tax Evasion

    In our final episode of the month, we share our second show & tell items, including a way to generate menu items at taverns in different parts of your fantasy world (with a roll table of boons & banes), an adventure you can run if you accidentally TPK all of your players, and a guide for running sports in D&D.     This is Definitely Not a Wizard of Oz Actual Play

    In this special episode, we bring our Pop Culture Character Builds to life in a one shot inspired by the Wizard of Oz! Can the crew stay on the rails and get to all of Kelly’s encounters, like a naked man and an unhelpful mayor that sounds suspiciously like Gollum? Also in this episode: Kelly tries very hard to avoid copyright infringement, Alec tries out an Alan Rickman impression and Laurenne tries to remember to use Hunter’s Mark.

    Cinematic vs Mechanical Mass Combat

    In this episode, we build some characters inspired by The Wizard of Oz (that we plan to play in our Wizard of Oz-themed actual play episode next week!). We also answer a listener question about ways to run mass combat for a final campaign battle, and discuss the pros and cons of cinematic vs mechanical combats (and what might work better for your table).
