    Anakin’s eyes shoot open as he looks around. The last thing he recalls was staring at his son's face as the Death Star exploded all around him. Now he awakens on a coarse, rough substance that gets all over his clothes. But as he sits up and shakes the sand off his cloak, Anakin glances around at his surroundings. He is in a sea of sand as far as the eye can see while twin suns glare at him from the sky. His expression darkens.     Anakin watches as the gunship takes off, leaving him alone in the hangar to make sense of everything that is happening. Part of him wants to warn Mace about Palpatine and insist that he go with them. The chancellor is more dangerous than they could imagine. But at the same time, Mace speaks with such iron certainty that he almost believes him. Almost. Instead, he tries to take his mind off this development by meditating.
