Rachel Bilson, Arden Myrin, and Rob Riggle on Christmas at the Kringles, Wild Improvisation, and Kevin Lewis’ Unseen 25-Minute Cut

Rachel Bilson spent much of Christmas at the Kringles trying not to laugh at Arden Myrin and Thomas Lennon, even while her own character was being hypnotized into a holiday nightmare. Bilson and Myrin talk with Kyle Meredith about the Christmas-obsessed cult at the center of the movie, how Bilson kept “Silent Night” playing in her head during her drugged-out scenes, and why Myrin thinks she'd make a pretty great cult leader herself. Rob Riggle follows with stories about playing a foul-mouthed, drunken Santa, the surreal experience of trading punches with Beverly D'Angelo, and why he's been branching out into more dramatic roles. Director Kevin Lewis then gets into his love of Sam Raimi's wild camera work, why he considers the movie a spiritual successor to Willy's Wonderland, and the 20 to 25 minutes of unused footage he'd love to release as the "Kringle Cut," along with a few ideas for bringing these Christmas-loving lunatics back for another round. Listen to Rachel Bilson, Arden Myrin, and Rob Riggle chat about all this and more or watch it on YouTube. Stephen Wilson Jr. on Singing with Eddie Vedder, the Pixies Connection in “Hardwired,” and Finding His Father in “Cornerman”

Stephen Wilson Jr. calls singing Chris Cornell’s part of “Hunger Strike” alongside Eddie Vedder at Ohana Festival one of the greatest moments of his life, and he tells Kyle Meredith how a cover he recorded just for himself led to sharing the stage with one of his heroes. The two also get into his recent run of singles, including how a last-minute writing session with Miranda Lambert turned into “Hardwired,” why interpolating the Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?” gives both songs an entirely different meaning, and how his music keeps finding connections he never planned. Wilson also opens up about “Cornerman,” which he sees as a sequel to “Father's Son,” and the realization that moving forward after Son of Dad might mean finally letting go of his father, even as he continues to show up in the songs. Plus, the former scientist and boxer talks about turning the Ryman Auditorium into a boxing ring, his dad’s love of Muhammad Ali, and why making music sometimes feels like having a friend and an opponent in the same corner.
