    Jules Dumont d'Urville - Part 6 - the second voyage of the Astrolabe: the Pacific Islands and Southeast Asia

    d'Urville and his two ships sail from South America to Polynesia. On the agenda for this episode is Tahiti, Guam, Tonga, the Philippines, Batavia, New Guinea, Singapore, and Australia. Despite illnesses depleting the ranks of the expedition, the Astrolabe and the Zelee will finish up in Tasmania as they prepare for another voyage to Antarctica.
